Pray to Allah, or else!

not that it matters, im sure im not in the minority here saying i never payed much attention in RE lessons

I was banned from taking RE lessons from the 2nd year onwards. My RE teacher, Mrs Hooper, was a midget and had to walk with the help of a mini-zimmer frame and her desk was stacked onto a sort of mini-stage so that she could be seen by all the class. For some bizarre reason she never took to kindly to me asking her "If God is so benevolent and all-caring why did he make you like you are?"

Defenestrate them!! :p

Hey, who left this window open? Ooops!:p

I don't read papers but what really gets on my **** is the constant bickering off people on here about the Daily Mail and how they seem so high & mighty because they don't read it.

"ooooh, its a Daily Mail story, you are sooooo thick".

No, it's just the Daily Mail is a very biased source to get your news from since it has an agenda on a lot of issues, so many of the stories they run are biggoted rants.

Well this seems to be a single isolated incident and the details aren't clear, it's not like this is happening around the country in every school. Probably just a bad teacher.

And like I said be used to get punished all the time for not praying when I was at school, and that was in both primary and secondary schools. Nobody had a hissy fit about that.

Pray to Allah, or else!

i think this is a disgrace. all the time now we hear storys in papers and tv news about muslims and what THEY find offensive. and the lilly livered politicians pander to their every whim and desire. if they dont like our laws and our culture theyre free to leave. just seen on the news today, they want to bring sharia law to the uk, no thanks weve moved on from medieval times here.

Yep this was a muslim plot to secretly turn the UK into an islamic state.

Kick em all out now!

People like you make things like this so much worse. I havent heard a single muslim state that you have no right to be outraged here, if this were to be true.

 articles like this make me so angry. It was a "demonstration". No one moans when kids refuse to take part in Science "demonstrations", or playing football/basketball/tennis in PE - it's how kids learn effectively, first hand. Any kid at school disrupting the lesson was dealt with a detention/similar when I was at school, and I'm sure the same is done now.
In this article, no one was "made to become" a muslim, just like no one was made to be a footballer/scientist in my day - and now - I was taught about all kinds of religions at school, and wore the 5 K's of sikhism in a similar demonstration, not to mention a visit to a church and later Cathedrals, and similar visits where possible. If parents were against their children learning/partaking in RE, they simply said so at the start of term and we got sent elsewhere in that 30-40mins.
What's wrong with people in this country is that they buy into the crap the media spouts about abuses of Human Right's and Political in-Correctness, which let's face it, isn't exactly all for "unity of Britain" - if anything, such headlines cause a bigger divide.
If we carry on like this the inevitable will happen and Britain will be a place torn by cultural/religious divisions brought on by lack of understanding and knowledge. :( What a shame.

Enough is enough quite frankly but I suspect this is blown out of all proportion.

Maybe, but the old adage of "No smoke without fire" springs immediately to mind.

Sorry, are we allowed to mention "smoke and fire" when mentioning Islam?

lol this is so funny.

when i was at primary school we were made to pray everyday in assembly

our father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name(i still remember most of it):D

im not christian but im guessing some of the teachers were...i told them i wasnt christian but still had to pray.
so is this a breach of my human rights ? have i been violated ? should i sue someone as this wasnt a play but actual religious prayers.

send the muslims back...it dont matter if they were not there or had nothing to do with it..we are angry and need to vent our frustration at someone:p

quite frankly, people can do what they wish in regards to religion, i will choose to do whatever i want, no matter if it will offend a bunch of muslims, or a bunch of christians.

all of this nonsense is starting to get over the top, frankly its all the bloody media's fault.

i strongly believe the government should stop all media coverage with religion

Thats the multi cultural country we're all living in

This has nothing to do with multiculturalism.

It's about a stupid RE teacher who should be taken out, tied to a tree, beaten severely with a heavy blunt instrument, and then shot through both eyes.

Honestly, this country just does my head in sometimes.

The problem is not with the demonstration per se. The problem is that two children were forced to participate against their will. That is the problem.

When I was at school, children had the option of doing alternative work while the RE class was in progress. This is how it should be.

But to be fair, Teki, you're probably ashamed of this entire planet. You're just waiting for the aliens to come and rescue you.

I really hate this country.

I'm ashamed to be British and live here.

11 months and I will be out of here.
Why 11 months, leave now. And to all those who agree with the above sentiments, if you're ashamed, Dover is ==> way. Instead of moaning about the state of the country, have you considered actually positively contributing towards it? After all, you are a citizen here with a voice, or is it too easy to clear off and moan about it instead?
