Haha I did check first Just guessed these would be a little cheaper.........
Normal 265bit 460 is pretty much 1:1 with a HD6850.
That i3 is actually faster than old gen CPUs like Core2Quad and Phenom II X4 at 3.7GHz on gaming performance. I helped a friend build a PC with the i3 2120, and it's not holding back the GTX560Ti 2GB overclocked to 950MHz in BF3 at all.Is an i3 enough to push both those cards fully?
NOpe!
I have both gtx 460 1gb and the asus 6850 that I bought from ocuk. I bought this 6850 because I read a lot that it was equal in performance with the 460, but maybe that 460 was the 768 version.
I tested them both on my i3 2120 machine. I have the same BF3 settings, and MSI FPS limiter thing set at 60fps.
The 6850 lags a lot. It can only equal the performance of the 460 when I turn off 2x AA
Something was wrong on your end then. Every review shows them nigh on identical, with the 460 eeking ahead in some tests, and the 6850 eeking ahead in others.
Not to mention I own both a 460 (in the wifes PC) and 6850's in mine, and I can tell you they are pretty much the same.
I have now tested both on my 15 2500k machine and still the same problem. With same settings again, the 460 was faster. 460 maintains a 60fps and ocassionally dips to 42fps in Metro, but the 6850 dips to 32fps and hardly maintains 60fps.
Don't know what' wrong with my 2 computers.
I bought this one from OCUK last week:

Confirmed the part number shows 192-bit memory...
Have I bought a gimped video card?

It's still a good price, and let's be honest, you'd only tell the difference with benchmarking software.Have I bought a gimped video card?
