**PRE-ORDER SPECIAL: BENQ XL2720T TRUE 120Hz 3D Vision 2.0 GAMING LED MONITOR!!**

If its anything like the XL2420t then it depends what you want from it image wise, its bright and vivid but if you actually care about color accuracy you won't be as big a fan - again assuming its along similiar likes to the 2420 it will excel as a pure gaming monitor but be somewhat wanting for more general use and far from good if you do anything image critical.

Well I don't mind not having a IPS panel, and as this new monitor will be about 8 years newer tech I'm hoping even with it needing more tweaking out the box it will be at least as good when setup right.

I have to say I've noticed this with the BenQ monitors, out the box I find them to actually be quite poor, certainly the 120Hz models. However after making some setting adjustments they are absolutely superb, so anyone with a BenQ should play with the settings as it can transform the monitor. :)

looks a very awesome monitor, i have xl 2420t dual one's, so tempting.

the one's i have are very good, looks like a good upgrade tbh.

Have to agree with this I went from a Dell U2412 IPS panel to a BenQ XL2411T and the picture out of the box was terrible. I even held onto my Dell for a while, but with some adjustments with the settings the picture quality is quite good now and I have finally let go of my Dell.

DELL's are generally superb out the box, always generally well calibrated.

Yeah same here with my 2405FPW, didn't have to do much of anything when I got it in 2005, glad to here the tweaks will get the Benq's about the same with a bit of fiddling.

Now I have a bit more confidence in the image, does anyone know, anyone who works here know if the date of the 27th is when they start shipping the monitors or just when you preorder price finishes, and if I put a preorder in now assuming it's first come first served when I'm likely to receive it? Is there enough to go around now or will I have to wait for a second shipments etc.

I was thinking about getting this one and the DGM, but ended up with the Asus VG278HE 144hz. Awesome monitor, but having issues with my gpu in 144hz on 2 screens HDTV and Monitor at the same time. My idle clocks and temps go up when in 144hz. when I only have 1 on the 144 hz works great, but doesn't seem to work with both?

100% there Gibbo, my BenQ was shocking out the box but with a good guide from TFT Central on hardware calibration and a profile to download it now looks great. :)

For anyone buying more than one: good luck trying to get the colours to match rofl

I spent so long trying to match the colours on my 2420ts that I just gave up.

Standard on 2 monitors. The extra clocks are needed to drive the extra monitor.

Well colour me rather disappointed, mine arrived yesterday and I've been tweaking and tweaking and tweaking the settings but I can't make it look ok, it's rubbish infact, not a patch on my 8 year old dell, tried different settings and tried a few different colour profiles and calibrating in Windows, nothing will make this look ok, plus it has blacklight bleed, especially at the bottom.

I like the size, there's more immersion, the resolution is just fine for the size, no problem there, the 120Hz is nice and what I was after though it's a slightly subtle effect, just the rest of the picture looks bad.

So what do I do, do I send it back and try the Asus VG278HE and risk it being about the same, or forget about 120Hz and go for a IPS monitor instead.

:(

Have you tried setting from PCM site

Also try increasing digital vibrance in nivida control panel.

Do you have any pic of the backlight bleed? overall what do you think of it? i am thinking about changing to one of these too,i have tried the 2420t and i did get the colours pretty close to my old dell 2407.

Tried, nothing will make this monitor do an acceptable image it seems, as for the digital vibrance, I wouldn't use it, not only does it not fix the problem it will make things worse in other ways, tried that against the first test here http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/

So annoyed, I've been searching for at least two years for a new monitor. :(

Depends what the problem is your having with it - on my 2420 things stand out like with the best possible settings the blues on the OcUK web page have a purplish tint to them (especially obvious when compared to any other monitor) and when tweaking the settings so the blues are proper you get issues elsewhere with the colors. In the end I accepted it for what it is - very good at gaming, not great for image quality and use it side by side with another panel that I use for desktop stuff. If its along those lines then swapping to the Asus probably will better suit you, if its just the overall nature of TN panels then swapping to the Asus probably won't please you any better than the BenQ.

Any updates on the picture quality and performance on this monitor Whitehawk? I'm running a U2713HM at the mo and it is a lovely panel but after having the chance to use my brothers 120HZ panel recently I'm tempted to sacrifice the colour reproduction and the extra pixels for the gained smoothness 120hz can produce. It's just using 27" @1080p for desktop work that holds me back and I simply do not have the space for a dual set up. This is the monitor that seems to be the most tempting.
