Pre-purchase spec-check please! (sub-£1000 build for Linux box)

Onboard gpu will switch off with the insertion of a graphics card, mine does.

having it there wont affect anything.

having it there can be handy if you ever have a problem with a graphics card(testing) or sell the GTX460 and there is a few days gap between getting a new card.

For the price you're looking at, why bother with a dual core Athlon when you can have a i5 2300?

edit Having seen quite a few problem posts with the Asus P8P67 MoBo, i switched to the MSI P67A - Updated

Unless anyone can point out any issues with the current spec, i'll be going with that, should i be able to actually purchase it...

Now, the only question i have is this:

The RAM i've listed based on advice is 1600:
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9)

But the motherboard supports up to 1133:
MSI P67A-GD55 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge)

Will this RAM work with the board (but under-clock itself to match), or should i swap it for actual 1133 RAM, such as:
OCZ Gold 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Low-Voltage Dual Channel (OCZ3G1333LV4GK)

?

edit After a little googling, i see i can use faster ram than the board/cpu supports, and it will indeed clock-down.

Why the hell are people recommending a GTX 460 OC for someone who explicitly states he doesn't want to play games?

Furthermore, why don't you, the OP, think it's a bit weird buying a high end factory overclocked graphics card considering you don't want to play games?

Sure, get a discrete card, and it's better if it's nvidia. But a 8600gs would be overkill. A GTX 460 OC is ridiculous.

edit: I may be bitten for calling a GTX460 high end, but my point remains valid.

Oh valid, i agree.
I may not be looking to play games, but i DO want to do some casual 3D modelling. That's where a reasonable graphics card comes in handy, and the probably-overkill cpu/mobo are more than enough for rendering and design stuff.
