Pre-season Football 2011/2012 Season

Anyone else noticed a marked improvement in Macheda since he came back? His general play seems far more composed.

Edit: Lol, clearly me and Tom agree :p

What a pass from Anderson, great control from Nani as well. Shame it all went **** up after that :p

If I had my way Macheda would be third in line in the striker positions, you dont score the goals he has against Villa without having something about you just hope he gets the chances and doesn't go the same way as Rossi

1st Rooney
2nd Chich
3rd Macheda
4th Owen

Macheda has looked good everytime I've seen him recently.

Good game, good test in hard conditions, De Gea looked good, never flapped, never struggled, slotted straight in.

Um...Berbatov?

Dont see where he fits in tbh, he's too much of a confidence player so unlikely to be able to play say 1 game in 5 and contribute in terms of goals, he's also got a rotten goal return as a sub as well unlike someone like Owen. All of Macheda's goals for the club have been as a sub as well.

Dont get me wrong I like Berbatov and he does offer the team something that the others strikers dont in terms of his control but strikers are judged on their goals and if he doesn't score in the odd appearances he gets he'll start getting ripped from all angles again and then the rest of his game will go to ****

Arguably at the stage of his career for the benefit of United's long term future his opportunities would be better going to Welbeck and Macheda also.

He still managed to have one of the best goal per minute on the filed ratings from last season.

3 hat-tricks probably helped with that :p

Now Chich is on the scene I cant see him being anything other than 3rd choice meaning last seasons goal return will probably be a one off :(

I still think Rooney and Berbatov is the best way to start games, with Chicho coming on second half to punish the tired legs. He looked most lethal off the bench last season.

Everton are about to play DC United if anyone is interested in watching. Lots of streams about. :)

Probably most likely due to one game though

He still did it, dont get me wrong - but to make a case just over one game is pretty desperate.

He also contributed nothing to a quite a few games also (when Rooney was out particularly, but also in the FA Cup semi) - No club can afford that kind of unreliability but especially Utd (who really have to fight to the very end of every season , and get to finals etc)

Some of his flicks and other tricks are outstanding - but the misses infront of an open goal need also be considered as well as the hits. Also are Utd likely to give him a long deal or sell him in the next month (rather than let him leave for nothing next summer)

Surely with Berba's more ........thoughtful.......movement, the defenders legs will be less tired though (in comparison to lets say Chicharito / Rooney and then Kiko coming on

Its also surely the case that with the pace that Rooney and Chicharito play at it allows other Utd players to get in behind also - with Berba Utd are more likely to be playing against 11 opposition behind the ball.......

I'm talking about the season overall, he had one of the best goal to minute ratios (I think Van Persie was top and he was second)
