Pre-season Football 2011/2012 Season

What's Balotelli having a tantrum about in the LA Galaxy game? I've just tuned in and he's throwing drink bottles on the pitch and shouting at people on the bench.

Apparenty he was clean through on goal and tried to back heel the ball past the keeper, Mancini was livid and subbed him.

Balotelli's such a ***

Not sure how you work that out; 67,000 seater stadium and an average attendance of 36,000. They have the highest average attendance in the MLS by far though.

They close part of it though, so it sells out the available allocation every week :p

Still impressive, I didn't realise MLS was growing in popularity over there.

Beat Watford 2-1 yesterday, to almost finish our pre-season (Tooting & Mitcham Tuesday then the Carling Cup on the Friday!). Good display, our team has a nice balance to it with Porter adding some steel as DM, and Wellard and Yussuf going forwards and causing mayhem. Jolley is looking good this pre-season, Midson is an unknown quantity, but quietly optimistic for a good first season back in the FL.

Myonly concern is CB, with Mat Mitchel-King getting glandular fever after signing so will be out a while.

Chamakh, thats just without putting in any effort, these are all strikers, mostly with very good scoring rates starting upfront for Arsenal, none of whom could get starts upfront, ended up being average to poor wingers

Chamakh hasn't been converted to a winger, pretty much every game I see he is playing up front.

As for Gervinho the main issue I have with him is if we had £12m for him and can afford a £10-12m bid for Jagielka, that means we've got at least £22m in the kitty. I'd have preferred us not to buy Gervinho and just put a bit more cash into buying a top quality CB (which could have meant just bidding £16m for Jagielka), and also a DMC.

Basically Gervinho is a luxury player, that wasn't needed as we already had Arshavin, Nasri, Walcott, Chamakh and Vela to play alongside/flanking/off Van Persie [not counting Bendtner as there are strong indications he may leave]. Whereas at CB there is no decent cover for Vermaelen and Koscielny, you've basically got Djourou who is reckless and Squillacci who is a waste of a shirt. Then at DCM there is Song who will miss loads of games through suspension and ACoN, PingPong looks promising to me but I'd still like to see a senior figure brought in, Reo-Coker on a free, Scott Parker got relegated so could be prised away from WHU I'm sure.

Finally don't forget ACoN is on for the next two years straight so Gervinho will miss plenty of games for that.

Joe Hart has just made me hate him even more than I already did, he's such a tool

Loved the yank commentary during that penalty shoot out though :D

Average attendances are going up :)

It's a decent league (probably between league one and two standard for the most), The World Football phone in on the Beeb talk about it a lot, (Brilliant show) but the average last season was something like just under 17k :)

He really does think he is the next coming of christ? doesn't he? He could have easily took a proper shot on goal and probably beat the keeper. Lets hope we get more luls from him next season. :D

Man City are in a tough posistion. No Tevez, Dzeko still trying to settle in and who knows whats going on with Mario. Don't see Aguero coming in and solving their Tevez problem on day one.

Ade is their only reliable striker at the moment and he probably won't be with City next season either. lol.
