Pre-season Football 2011/2012 Season

You'll be blaming Fergie for not buying one if you don't win the league (or lose) :p

Ideally you want the top class players backed up by the promising youngsters.

Having top class players backed up by stagnant not so top class players serves no-one, especially as they'll still demand top wages. If we're to improve our team it should be by replacing the ones that aren't good enough, not keeping them and just adding players on top of them.

Ok I've lost track of what United players are left on, Jones, Smalling and Park definitely went.

Nope, no United keepers there afaik.

Only United players were: Evra, Jones, Smalling, Park, Pobga, Cleverley, Welbeck

Haven't seen Pogba though.

And it's not United :p

Are there any actual United players still on the pitch?

EDIT: Just heard that Pogba is on so that's one

6-2

Would have been a better game with more balanced teams but really one of the top clubs in France against some United youngsters, a few unknowns and a couple of retired players is just silly.

Nearly 6-3, Cleverley has been brilliant tonight, nearly set up Pogba.

Cleverley has everything I want in a footballer, in that he's easily spottable because he's a shortarse :D

Oh 7-2. If we had any defenders on I'd care :p

It must have been good for Welbeck and Cleverly's match fitness if nothing else (not that they were injured or anything)

Did laugh this morning with nearly all media outlets calling this a "Unitex XI" when only 7 made the trip - no gk, not a complete defence and majority of youngsters + Evra......ooohh and a former Utd gk who was never that reliable 1st time around (7 years ago or so?)......edit oh Park also

Im glad people are coming around to what Ive been saying all summer in that Cleverly really is a great youth product, and should hopefuly cope with a decent amount of games in the senior squad.

He really is worth a shot (in central midfield)

I do agree though that some top class quality experience is required in the AM role - from which Cleverly will learn a lot, while having less pressure on his shoulders while he grows his game with the Utd team
