*** Pre-season Friendlies Thread ***

City beat Beskitas today 2-0. Tidy finish from Aguero and awesome goal from Kompany.

Looking forward to the Arsenal game next week.

Chelsea v PSG will be a good game also hopefully.

The PL should be awesome next year. 3 way charge at the top for glory. All teams in all competitions. Great stuff!

Can't wait to see Mata and Hazard play together next season. :D

Game against PSG this weekend should be good too.

Manchester United vs Ajax Cape Town

Kicking off in 30 minutes (2pm BST).

MUFC XI vs Ajax Cape Town: Amos; Vermijl, Wooton, Ferdinand, Blackett; Valencia, Scholes, Carrick, Anderson; Kagawa, Hernandez.

Some of the lads we are playing today look pretty poor. You can see the english mentality of "get your head down and put the ball in" rather than looking where your players actually are. Pass to people feet, not hopeful balls to where you think they should be.

Kagawa having a hard time keeping the ball. He is just really small.

Shouldn't judge him now though. Not untill after his first season at UTD. Just hope he brings the same form he had in Germany.

He's been good whenever he's had the ball. His size isn't an issue.

Unfortunately we've looked largely clueless. :/

Really? I thought he has looked pretty good, hes just not getting a lot of options as an out.

The thing that ****es me off most is how slowly we pass the ball to each other. The other team has time to chase it down and put pressure on the man receiving the ball whereas the good passing teams move the ball quickly so that if a man is under pressure, its just from the man, not from having to control of return the ball while moving towards it at pace.

I disagree with Rob, Kagawa holds the ball well.

What is frustrating is that with Carrick and Scholes in midfield you don't get pass and move so it makes it too easy to close us down. I think Cleverley and Kagawa would compliment each other well as attacking midfielders.
