Predator movie

I'm more interested in why someone is interested in other people's opinions of a film without giving their own opinion of said film. Post history suggests we aren't going to find out.

I really respect Predator 2 for the new direction it took while still keeping the Canon Rules from the first and expanding them, plus Buseys unhinged performance is great, but it really suffers by only being a "good film" compared to the "great film" original which makes it look much worse than it really is.

I preferred Predators or AvP to Predator 2. I loved the performances by Glover and Busey, it's just that the film was filmed so badly lighting wise. I think AvP 2 suffered the exact same problem.

Nice to see OP chiming in with his/her opinions.

Absoloute classic, I don't think there is any man who saw it it either the 80s or 90s that doesn't love it. It has an incredible ensemble of characters. Starts off as your classic action film and then just goes off the charts with one of the most iconic bad guys of movie history.

It was nearly a flop though. Jean Claud Van-Dam was the predator to start with and dressed in a kind of Raptor dinosaur suit with a laser on it's head. All the test shots looked terrible and they put everything on hold while Stan Winston was brought in to make a new creature. Stan was a genius...

Perhaps I should rewatch the first one then. Have seen the second 5+ times but the first maybe twice.
The end of the second where he's underground in the ship and he walks into the trophy room just blows me away every time especially when you see that skull :)

One of my favourite movies the original Predator. It's just so atmospheric and gritty. They just don't make movies like that anymore :( seen it when I was about 11 and was terrified by the Predator lol.
It's crazy to think Jean Claude Van Damme was originally cast as the Predator and actually filmed a few scenes. But he thought he was going to be able to do martial arts moves in it until he realised the suit was too big and heavy. Don't think a 5ft7 Predator doing jumping roundhouse kicks on Arnie would have looked quite as good as it ended up looking with that guy who was about 7ft that they replaced Van damme with
