Nice. Hopefully they manage to keep it under four figures. Probably not though.
Pah, in our dreams. This thing goes for 2k (GBP/USD ...no difference these days).
If they had a 30-32" version also....
As nice as all the specs of this monitor looks, the one thing that lets it down is the small size. I find that even 1440p can sometimes feel too small on a 27" screen, I can't imagine how much worse it would be for 4k. Got to be 32" minimum and preferably something like 40" suits the resolution best.
I will also say that considering the small screen size... that £2k is now looking a bit less reasonable. Might have been a bit more justifiable for a slightly bigger screen. It goes without saying that 2 unnecessary features drive up the price of the screen to that level, otherwise TNA would have had their wish (under 4 figures) granted.
-Eye Tracking. It's a gimmick. Will anyone actually use it? It reminds me of something like the 3D feature on the 3DS, sure a few people love it, but most people couldn't care less and for most, it's just an unnecessary factor increasing the cost
-G-sync. Seriously... the premium for G-sync these days is ridiculous. Especially when one considers the cost (or lack thereof) of the competing feature FreeSync, which does the same thing (but just not for Nvidia GPUs, since Nvidia refuse to support FreeSync) for much better value. I'm told that FreeSync range and early issues have been ironed out for FreeSync by now. I will say that it makes a bit more sense at 4k, since framerate will be lower and that's where G-sync/FreeSync shines, but then this monitor does up to 144Hz.
I'd rather have no G-sync, it's a feature that I don't feel is worth the asking price (£100 extra max, I'd be willing to pay for it), FreeSync and I'd probably buy it even with an Nvidia GPU due to it not costing much extra over screens without adaptive sync technology (much like I bought my current FreeSync monitor despite my 970). The surprising thing is, despite Nvidia GPUs being more common and popular, FreeSync is apparently the better selling Adaptive Sync technology for monitors, aka more FreeSync monitors sell compared to G-sync.
Perfect monitor? Not even close, let alone a cigar. Stuffing it with features that not everyone will use and the size for the resolution, will really limit how many folks would be interested in buying such a screen. Remove eye-tracking, swap G-sync for FreeSync, increase the screen-size and then you can claim 'perfect' monitor.
