As much as I would love that I fear it would go down the same as every other themepark MMO (yep I am looking at you SWTOR) and we'd have people on the forums saying their class was kwisatz haderach level 15 with a voice spec. And then a little part of me would die ...
 
Well perhaps a bit better than that... I was thinking back over some MS Titles, Age of Empires - Fable - Halo

I don't know if it would work but it would be awesome if there was a way of linking a mobile/web based Age Of Empires style RTS which morphed to an effective fantasy 3rd person hack n slash to an FPS with perks that carried over.

So the global game advances that you create from the AOE events would be the political, technological and economic drivers for the other arenas.
You could create a genealogy and play a multi generational family line in the RPG / FPS element.

The way you treat your family would drive the choices of your characters as you develop through the game - decide to be a thief and perhaps the next generation has less education, a merchant less stamina etc.

The game could be chosen to interact with others or not...

It would require so many skill sets from different technologies and game design methodologies that I can't see any existing studio taking the chance on it. But if you are an MS device user across all technologies it could be epic.

Hmm I am really obviously avoiding work at this stage.
 
Microsoft have to have an amazing E3, imho.

I would like to see some more information on Uncharted, and of course I dream of game announcements from Valve.

I, however, remain most excited about the surprises :).

I expect the usual too, more FIFA, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Forza, Halo, Gears of War, Far Cry and the 'this looks different from the last announcement' downgrade and rubbish from Ubisoft.

Some ppl know about but others are guesses but ones that are coming I hope to see gameplay vids.

I'd love to see Warcraft 4 as 3 was fun many many years ago until they went to mmo.

Day of the Tenticle was awesome. I had completely forgotten about this gem of a game. Just read about a remastered version for PC being released this year. Thanks!!!

Sorry to hijack the thread but does that mean you can only play with other UA modded games? By skirmish do you mean against the computer? Sorry if this is a dumb question. Just would be cool to get back into DoW.

Yeah in multiplayer the DoW versions have to exactly match between everyone in the game for it to work properly (e.g. if one person in the lobby has v1.8.1 then everyone else needs this version for an online game to work).

Also, yep, by Skirmishes I mean against the computer. Essentially, in the latest UA version you can play games against the computer or games online against other players (and in multiplayer you can mix it up so you can have some computer players and some real players).
