2001 predicted tablets, video calls of the top of my head as well, though neither are particularly insightful, the likes of video calls, via mobile phones were predicted back in the late 1800s as far as I'm aware, off the back of development of radio waves and early TV.

Near the begining of 2010, there is a scene with Dave's mum in the kitchen, watching a flatscreen with rolling news on it. I thought that was serioulsy cool. It's exactly what I have now (although I can angle my screen and it's not an FST CRT hidden in a box!).

BTTF 2 is set in 2015. So many of the things in it were reality in real 2015, even more in 2020 onwards.

Flatscreens, relentless movie sequels, electric cars, "hoverboard", voice controlled home, 3d holograms, video calling and probably loads more I can't be bothered to list/lookup!

I really want one of those hoverboards, I think the closest only works on a special floor. I know sci-fi does tend to lead the way in designing things, think back to tos and those communicators, Motorola flip phone .

I don't think 1987's Robocop had a year number (someone correct me please), but this is a mobile phone running Google Maps. So long for the copycats Apple and Samsung throwing tit-for-tat lawsuits against each other. Robocop was there first!

Yes there are many many 70s,80s,90s films that use eye scanning as a way to tell you this place is so important it's protected by retinal scanning. Now every tom dick and harry is casually unlocking their phone with 3d facial mapping many times a day.
