Have Chelsea replaced one crazy rich guy with an even crazier one?

5 points off top of league in a crazy start to the season and lost their first CL game. Its not the end of the world. If they were falling away in the league and struggling in the CL come the WC break I would get rid perhaps.

I'd like to see them give Bielsa a go :D
How about Parker? ;)
A lot of Leicester fans want Potter, if he went Chelsea easy missed chance due to owners dithering.

No chance Potter would go to Leicester IMO.
Has Rodgers been given the heaveho? Or is this just who people want if he gets his marching orders? I have to agree potter wouldnt go to Leicester surely? no one already in the prem with current form of Brighton is going to swap for the points deficit and woeful backline/keeper combo.
I was really hoping Potter would get the England job after Southgate flops at the WC.
Yeah, he's one of the better options if they want homegrown. Howe, Potter, they've got to be the first names on the list surely? I think a number of us would want them in place before the world cup but sadly that's not going to happen and it will be another defence minded tournament of what if. Tbh I'd rather we were boycotting it altogether but that would be the case whoever was manager.

That has been my wonderings this morning too. If it had been Rodgers it would have made sense. Tuchel? Wow. Particularly when it sounds like they don't have someone lined up ready to takeover. Lol at Fofana going there though. Hope for him it's not another Drinkwater, wanted by the out going manager, not wanted by the new etc. He's not had chance to show what he can do there so a potential target for a new manager wanting to clear some room and shake things up.

Our chance was probably last summer, he wouldnt join now.
There's more chance of Harry Potter taking over at Leicester than Graham Potter.

Going to Chelsea, even if under a volatile owner is not a terrible idea, because worst case scenario he gets sacked and gets paid millions, meanwhile the world looks and and goes "yeah, another one sacked by Chelsea, lol owners" and he comes away pretty clean. He's also got 'big club' experience on his CV.
Going to Leicester, considering they've let half their team leave and their current predicament, relegation isn't being the realms of possibility. And then he's back in the lower leagues with nobody paying him much attention, even if he is given time and was able to bring them back up, that would basically be two years wasted to get back into the Prem, compared to say 6-18 months at Chelsea with a massive payoff and then taking another Prem job.

That makes sense if all he cares about is money and he doesn't want to wait to see if he can get an England post. But he strikes me as someone who cares about his job and gets enjoyment from it rather than a mercenary rider of the managerial merry-go-round a la Pardew et al of 10 years ago.

Lol @ Harry potter. At least he'd be able to magic some results. Leicester need something to happen soon or it really will be relegation time. I think it's a worse start than the 2014-2015 great escape season. I can't see this squad pulling that off tbh. If they do though I'm putting a bet on them winning next season if they offer 5000-1 again!

Not sure why Potter would want the England job. Its a tricky job because you have the players for so little time and he likes to play exciting football that requires high level of buy in and coaching from what I can see.

The England job is usually for managers who kick around management for years at lesser clubs but not ones that are going places.

I think he would massively miss the weekly games the PL gives you as a manager.

Theres a reason many managers don't do international until their later years IMO.

Rodgers has made it sound like half the team has left, he has lost 3 first team players. He has spent over 200 million.

8 of the 11 regular starters were playing in our two top 5 place finishes.

The issue isnt playing personnel.

But of course players have lost confidence, we have awful momentum, a points deficit and seemingly now no player budget. So the job is nowhere near as attractive as it would have been 12 months ago, I think back then we could have got Potter, now we would need to grab someone like Dyche, and I would be ok with Dyche to be fair.

Wtf, is that including what they gave Tuchel

If you remove money out of the equation, I can’t see what Leicester would offer Potter over what he has already built at Brighton? What reason is there to move?

E: Sorry messed the quotes up James!

Going to Chelsea can be an OK career move as well as rewarding financially though. They are a team that will challenge for trophies, he gets to play in the Champions League, he'll get an elevated profile that could help him down the line etc. Plus regardless of your motivations you want a big pay day at some point or other, he won't have been earning millions at Ostersunds or whatever it was, and he's one of the lowest paid managers in the Prem.

The way I'd see it, going to China would be all about money, maybe Nouveau riche clubs like Newcastle (not that I'm suggesting Howe should be replaced). Going to Chelsea is about going to a big club with big ambitions that happens to pay well too.

Bigger club, more successful, more potential, world class training facilities.

Regardless of the league table, due to current management, we have better players. (Recent FA Cup win and 5th place finishes in Premier league).
