Newcastle would be in danger of ******* off their players if they sack Howe I imagine. I think its all just got a little too much this season with the extra games and their plethora of injuries. They should stick with Howe at least until the end of the season and reassess then.

Indeed. 9 injuries or something at present? This isn't a Ten Hag situation where there's a plethora of talent still available that's underperforming consistently. IMO they're too good to go into any sort of bottom half free fall with Howe. Would be utter madness to bin him mid season.

I'm confused as to what Newcastle actually want right now.
They staved off relegation one season to qualify for the champions league, they're not ahead of schedule, they got lucky really and that's how it should be seen.

Getting a top 6 finish and into Europa should be a viable target, but they've been really bad with injuries and had their main signing of the summer banned. Which should really give some leniency to Howe.

On a selfish point of view, I want Howe to be England manager.

It's the mad, short term thinking of a few overly vocal fans. They expect the world after a season in which they overperformed. It's the same with some Villa fans even now, furious that we didn't beat Sheffield and Man U to go top.

Most fans are just happy that both clubs are capable of playing great football again. I doubt the majority of Toon fans want Howe gone. Even if he looses to Sunderland and they don't finish top 6 there's just too much good will there. Or maybe I'm just naïve :p

we hit 14 at one point.

I think Howe is going no where and these links are just easy click bait because the clubs is "rich" (spoiler alert, it is not) and we're in a slump.

My prediction is that Southgate will leave after the Euros, Howe will be offered the job and accept it which will be convenient for all and save face all round. Personally I’d like to see him have at least another season after this one. He deserves it. Newcastle have gone 70 years without a domestic trophy. We can go 71 nee bother.

Completely ridiculous that that question is even being asked. He’s the reason we qualified for the champions league, cup final etc.

This season has exposed how weak our squad is.

Now if he loses today at the Stadium of ****.

I retract my statement above and will say “out the ****”

Just like Bielsa at Leeds, ravaged by injuries, they sack him and look where they are now

The sooner Southgate goes the better

It’s absolute stupidity to be talking about Howe getting sacked, I have no doubt that he will be replaced with an elite manager in the future, but now is not the time. The problem is some of our fans are stupidly fickle and defeat today will see some of those idiots turn.

Puts Palace in a bit of a delicate position now, can't sack the guy who is in a hospital bed so they're gonna have to wait and see what happens now before announcing the new manager.

Roy should probably walk away for his own health anyway, looks like he's aged about 10 years this season.
