He's gone, they can call it what they like. The race is over. Can bet on the second to go now.

From the title. Poll: Premier League Sack Race

Sack. Not resigning. Being "shown the door" means to be sacked, not walking out on your own accord.

The race is still on, if you voted for Lopetegui sucks to be you, you lose.

Its generally accepted that walked/sacked are the same thing in football. They often "part ways amicably" which is a sacking.

It's very different as Wolves didn't want him to go, (not a sacking, or a face saving exersize), it was Lopetegui's decision to go.. not sure how that's a sacking..

Have you got the details of the conversations they had that confirm this?

I was obviously not in the room, so no.. but it is clear that Wolves who spent so long trying to bring this manager in, and then he saves them from relgation did NOT want him to go.. He was given assurances of money, which were not correct, he's said so himself.

I've yet to see a single report that Wolves or any of their board wanted him to leave, he felt misled, and hence the mutual decision. I'm not sure how anyone can see it any other way.

If the manager wanting out, is considered a sacking, for the situation of this thread, that's fine by me, just not seeing a 'sacking' situation as the reality of it.

I voted for Lopetegui just now but he was my vote anyway :D. Maybe we can reset the vote to only include managers in place after the season has kicked off?

As for the semantics around 'sackings' etc I'm pretty sure in some previous seasons we've had more explicit wording to clarify it's around first manager to leave post not necessarily sacked, Sack Race is just the traditional name of these threads but I'm assuming it's the same as always.

It's not possible. I can reset the entire poll but I'm not able to remove an option. I could change the name of an option but the votes that were cast would stay in place.

I think Spurs will be a surprise package…it will take them a little to click but once they do, I’d image they will do well. Actually have more confidence of them finishing above Liverpool.
I think you're the 1st person on here to even bother checking them out objectively; I've been enjoying the complete write off everyone seems to have of them, even claims of relegation or lower bottom half finish (even ignoring some tongue in cheek, banter remarks). Most Spurs fans know we're in a rebuild / start from square one scenario so I predict a pasting one week to a dominating display the next. It'll be 10 x more enjoyable to watch and (almost) worth the £100 a week ticket price. Sacking of Postecoglou this season? no chance, we actually have a manager who wants to give the club an identity and not be here like he's doing us a favour.

I said that too :(

At his appointment I was in the position that they will struggle, but the more i read about him (Postecoglou), the more i have confidence. He seems to be really good at building teams and turning them to play in a way that he wants everywhere he went.

Do I think he will win the league? No, but I think they will be a surprise package once the players clicks.

Also, wild card to get sacked.....Klopp...if they are not in around 6th or above by Christmas, they might have to let him go this year. He needs a strong start and not stumble like last year, not sure the board will give him more time again to turn it around like last year. BTW, I am in the opinion that sacking him will be the wrong move, I don't think there are many managers better than him working today, certainly not those out of a job at the moment.

The reason people are downplaying Spurs is because they expect(ed) Kane to leave. Can any Spurs fan actually say with a straight face that they think they won't be mid-table without Kane. Almost everything goes through him. Son and Kane have an insane partnership but its a partnership. Without Kane you lose his goals but also his link up with Son.

Spurs have an alright team but its nothing special outside of Son and Kane. Kulesevsky is good players as well.

They have very good individuals but have been played in a way that has never got them playing as a good team. Hojberg is a good holding player, and Maddison a great creative player. Romero is a great CB etc etc, no idea on the new CB and left back and keeper. Depends on what Richarlison can do this season. It's a good side, and should easily be top 8, higher with Kane.
