I think he's been gone for months. After a decent first half of last season Spurs have got progressively worse the longer he's been there. While the trophy was huge for the club, it couldn't detract from just how bad they were and once you start fighting with supporters you're done.

Spurs are at a crucial juncture now, they have a great stadium, Champions League football and need to move forward.

Ange performed horribly in the league and won a competition that they were expected to win (until the final, anyway). Their opponents were mostly pretty poor.

They haven't fallen into the Ten Hag trap and stuck with a manager who is obviously struggling just because he won a trophy.

If they can get the right replacement then this will probably be a wise decision... we shall see.

While I don't disagree that there are other issues at the club, you can't keep a manager that's made the side progressively worse for 18 months. Yes he won a trophy but with the greatest respect, the Europa has become a second rate trophy and that final was like flipping a coin. Both sides were rubbish and Utd could have easily won that game without any real difference in performance from either side. A scruffy and hugely fortunate goal deciding the final doesn't make Ange and the job he done any better.

Nobody could say with any confidence that Spurs would have improved next season under Ange and enough supporters have already fallen out with him where things would become pretty toxic, pretty quick.

Thought that harsh tbh got the cup at least give him half a season, I mean who going to replace him anyway now?
Naa you can’t buy / invest in players for CL that suit one specific system then sack the guy and have to start all over again for the next 2 to 3 seasons. I hate not sticking to one person, but this is something we had to do when he’s taking on the fans in the stadium after losing a historic amount in the PL…no matter how idiotic they are.

It's probably the right decision. But so very spursy to sack a manager straight after they finally win a trophy. Oh spurs. :p
