Premium Bonds - If you post to say how much you've won, please also say how much you have invested.

i cant recall how much i have in bonds but i get £25 once in a while.

i do wish that i had the max limit to get the more worthwhile returns.

£25 doesnt go far these days

ive been thinking of taking mine out
but Ive had good returns for a small amount in

i haven't had it a year yet, and i won 3x £25 i think which beats savings

i have a Barclays account
but i do currently have a nationwide one, with the added flex direct savings, which was about 2.5% when i took it 6 months ago

What about paying tax on these fixed accounts, as they are not ISAs. Does that go on the same earnings as your wages, or is it separate capitals gains tax?

Its income tax but there is an allowance (which depends on your highest tax rate)

I have a few £k in PBs, it won £25 in March, April, June, July, August and September. But as soon as they doubled the effective interest rate for the October draw, it didn't win anything :D

have had PB for a good while now.
was just the sensible option as savings rates have been terrible for years. they are starting to get a little better though so could be time to move
but i've always liked the instant access to your money and that tiny chance of winning a jackpot

Not sure whether to comment in here or elsewhere, Santander have launched an easy-access eSaver account today with 2.75% interest... Joint applicants available and balances up to £250k

Thats interesting on Santander as thats higher than the regular saver
They do seem to be constantly changing the rates, 123 has moved twice quite recently
There must be some pressure on rates with capital flowing around by teh looks of things (reminds me of post financial crash when cash ISA rates kept going up and lenders were clearly after the funds, the the BOE bailed them all out heavily and they dumped the interest rates)

Actually they have increased the regular to 2.75% recently as well but only for new deposits! so mine is stuck at 2.5% since its a fixed rate product
