Firestar on these forums reccomended that I disable defragmenter and get hold of an application called ssd tweaker when I install Windows 7 x64 on my new G.Skill Falcon SSD.

Could somebody please clarify exactly what I'll need to do to ensure that I don't bork the SSD using it as a drive to run my OS and Apps.

Thanks :)

You won't bork it, period. But there are various thing Win7 will do to automatically to increase its longevity and disable unneeded functions. You don't need ssdtweaker for win7.
And while defrag is a silly idea, and win7 will disable it, the worst it will do is slow the transfer rates on your shiny new ssd down, and you can run the wiper tool to restore the speeds.

So literally, if I run Windows 7 - all I have to do is plug it in and install the OS as usual? Would it perhaps be an idea to run SSD Tweaker *just in case* ?

Good stuff, that's very reassuring to know :)
Will Windows 7 automatically re-assign temp files and scratch disks to another drive?

I would make sure to align the drive using diskpar before you install the OS, you can find a guide on the OCZ forum for doing it and its possible to do it from inside the windows 7 installer.

Is it neccessary to align the drive in Windows 7? Everybody I've spoken to has said it's only for XP.

I was under the impression it should be done before installing any OS on an SSD. I might be wrong of course, but this is what I thought the case to be :)
