Present from my cat.

My cats use to tag team squirrels! Little buggers were good at it too! Had to don the emergency super thick gloves and go rescue them!

Are cats really bringing you presents though? I've heard that term before and never really understood it. My old cat - Tom who got ran over years ago used to bring Mango peels and heads of fish which it caught from the neighbours pond. So was that my present?

That's the general theory as to why cats bring you come of their hunts yes :)

Cause cats are pack creatures, you as their Human, are the head of the pack, so you have first refusal on a kill or as you are part of their pack then you should have some of the kill too.

Another is that as cats don't see you hunting then they are providing you with food cause you might be hungry...this one is a little lame if you ask me

It only annoys me when Snoopy does it and the poor creature is still alive, otherwise, as long as she eats it I'm not fussed - nature at work IMO

Samson brought in another mouse this morning! I spent half an hour chasing it round the living room this morning! He looked very proud of himself and couldn't understand what he'd done wrong!

The only way you can help stop him from doing this is by keeping him in at night. It wont 100% stop him of course, but if you keep him in over night (from 10pm till when ever you get up in the morning) then he will only catch stuff in the day time and its much harder for cats to do this as 9/10 the hunted can see the hunter :D

Plus there are fox's and all sorts around at night, which will pose a real threat to your cat

Not always! I saw a neighbours cat terrorising a poor fox when I got up to use the bathroom one night. Was about 4 in the morning and the cat was sat poised, while the poor fox was cowering under a car for protection. After a little while the cat got bored and stalked off and the fox made a dash for the fields that are behind the houses on the other side of the road from my house.

Cats are waaaaaay more vicious than foxes when on the hunt.

Lol GO KITTY!!!

Sorry, I'm not a massive fan of foxes

I wouldn't put a collar on a cat, they're far more likely to get stuck when they're out prowling.

They can also really hurt themselves if they get their rear leg stuck in the collar. Since they struggle to get out and panic

One of our cats went missing for almost a week and came bak half dead with his leg stuck through his collar

Our other cats constantly rip the collars off

Now they just roam collar free

Always use collars with the extendable elastic, so they cannot hang themselves on ligatures.
