Presentation

Completely depends on the topic and whether you need to put across a lot of stats etc.

As long as they are clear, add to the message rather than just repeating what you are saying and they focus peoples attention rather than distracting them you shouldn't have a problem.

I'm not sure what i'm going to talk about in terms of ICT for 15 minutes.

It needs to be something meaty but something I am knowledgeable on.

It really depends on the subject, from experience one slide for every two minutes of chat to keep audience attention, get some colleagues and do a dry run. They should time the presentation and record their views for an analysis when it’s over. Don't forget to have eye contact with a couple of the audience when you present. One other thing, if you’re a novice presenter, take off your watch to keep an eye on the timings. :)

This really annoys me. Look at your content, look at what visual aids you need to support what you're saying. You may not need any at all.

The ones I did before, I pretty much just read the slides.

You must do one hell of a boring presentation then, that's the worst thing you can do. Hope you're not being marked on presentation skills.

Put in bullet points highlighting key points and then talk about each point. A long presentation doesn't necessarily equal more slides.

How many slides would I be looking at for a 15 minute presentation?

1. Determine what it is you want to convey, knowing you have 15 minutes to present everything.
2. Put this information onto a number of slides.
3. This is the number of slides you need.

Please tell me you weren't looking for a definitive number :(
