We are in a worst position because we now have no say in how the laws are written but must except them. If we are some how lucky we may avoid an agreement that sees us accepting EU laws.

It'll be give and take I think to reach an amicable conclusion because the EU stands to lose a lot more trade from the UK I think? German cars, French wine, and whatever the Italians etc do lol.

Cutting the nose of to spite the face I feel even the UK and the EU is above.

I think you're confusing EU laws related to products before they can be sold in the EU, and EU internal directives and regulations.

I personally don't see the EU budging on the uptake of rules and regulations but only time will tell.
edit: At your last sentence, I wouldn't count on that.
