when I bought my first x86 pc most households didn't even own a computer and the rather basic model I bought costme £1500 at the time!

does this mean your an old fart like me...

My dad worked from home so had access to a few at the time..

he had a 386dx 20 with maths co processor
my mum had an Amstrad PC1512
i had an unbranded 386sx 25 built from a scrap pile

486 dx2 was my first followed by a pentium '100' that I subsequently found out was actually a p90 with a dodgy memory simm from a cowboy high street seller called Escom who went out of business shortly afterwards.
