Hey guys,
I suddenly remembered a song we usedto sing at primary school (no idea how i remembered it but i did) so i thought i'd pop online to see if i could find the words for it but cannot find any reference to it anywhere. It was called " Tommy went to the Moon", it could have been "went", "goes" or "flies" one or the other anyway. Can anyone do me a favour and see if they can locate the words or if they remember it?

Other songs i remember were:

Kum-By-Ya
Magic Penny
Michael Finnegann
Wouldn't it be Funny?
and some others which i only slightly can recall.

Lets hear what songs you guys remember! :D

"If I had a hammer" I don't know if that's what it was actually called though.

"Kum-By-Ya"

"Hokey-Kokey"

"London's Burning" (idiotic one where 4 groups of kids would sing it at staggered times, what's the point?)

Lots of happy clappy christian songs as our deputy head tried to hammer his religious message home.

in singing in the afternoon on tuesdays we did some good songs

lily the pink
derby ram
that one about cockles
sloop john b
grandfathers clock!
the great ship titanic!

oh man

I burst out randomly with the following lyric recently:

"It takes 100 thousand years, for a forrest, to grooooooooooooooow"

And to my surprise loads of people seem to know it! There were a bunch of songs all about the rainforest being destroyed that I think loads of schools were given to perform, or something, but I cannot find anything about it on the internet.

"20th century highway man.... stand and deliver! He's heading for the Amazon river!"

"Wild cats, wilds cats, king of the Jungle.... something something... Jaguar!"

"Jungle Disco"

"Emerald crown.... something"

But the first one I mentioned was epic, I still know all the words :o

Anybody else recall this?

"How long will it be, before you can see, that what we are doing is wrong.....?"

Who put the colours in the rainbow?
Who put the salt into the sea?
Who put the tree inside the acorn?
etc

"So let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London...I'll show you something, that'll make you change your mind." ;)

Michaelmas daisies

I can't remember much else, I do remember that we used to substitute words into the lord's prayer that we had to say at the end of assembly. Stuff like "Our father who farts in heaven, Harold by thy name..." and other stuff

Something about Sing Hosanna.

That song made me so embarrased in primary one and still cringe thinking about it.

It goes "sing hosanna to the king of kings, sing hosanna to the king" and at the last bit I forgot it stopped and shouted "OF" at the top of my voice.

Wouldn't have been so bad if we were just in class but it was a school and parent assembly and everyone looked at me and laughed :(
