I've errored out after 6 hours Tauren - you really need at least 8 hours and even then I errored out after 9 hours before.

Sounds like a long waiting game then.. Bah, i'm just going to have to leave it overnight then. I cant get it stable at 2.8 so im giving up on that idea lol.

But a computer only really needs to be that stable if your folding or something similar. Ive run computers before that have failed prime after 1 hour or so, but never crashed under normal usage conditions. Yes, I agree if you want a 100% rock stable overclock, then 12 hours or so is a minimum test, but if you cant be bothered waiting, then only letting Prime run for 2-3 hours cant do too much harm.

Heh.. Well, i'm not gonna be playing any game for 12+ hours hehe. But i will leave it for that long anyway, show this cpu who's the boss around here sorta thing  Let it get used to some warmish temps.

OK I used prime 95 for 11 hours and 44 mins with no errors so it seems the problem was fix by upping the DDR volts to 2.75. So can I class my [email protected] a stable overclock now? (I run the Blend Torture Test as it said it was a bit of everything)

I get the same error in prime, but ive run my cpu at 2.6 for a long time now and have no windows issues, games run fine and i encode a lot, so im not sure how acurate this Test is?

3D Mark and Sysoft Sandra all run tests fine too, i have even tried running the test with my pc at stock, and guess what, same error ?

Leads me to believe there is little stock in Prime95 or there is a minor fault in my hardware, but not my overclock.

Try upping the DDR volts like I did to 2.75 see if it fixes your problem it did for me.

Have tried voltages, made no difference, like i said, even at stock speed i get the same error. I just dont bother with prime now, my pc does what i want and with no visible errors or problems, i used to run at 2.8 but dropped it to 2.6 for the winter as the room temps were higher with the heating on, but still it ran with no errors in games or when encoding video, so i have little faith in prime's results or tests.

S & M is quicker than Prime and my cpu gets quite a bit hotter with it. I usually run the 2hr test on S & M and keep going till its still stable in S & M and then run 12hr Prime test.
