Cant think of most appropriate location for this so move if appropriate.

I have just purchased a new phone, As seems typical these days there are no instructions. One is expected to DL the instructions as a file from the manufacturers website.

However, The format is dreadful!

It seems to be designed to produce an A7 size document with tiny tiny print that is well beyond the capabilities of my ageing eyes! and if I try to print it out I just get tiny illegible pages printed in the top left hand corner of the A4 sheets!

Is there an easy way to reformat/edit this document in order to make it usable (Making the A7 pages into A4 ones would be acceptable, I just cannot seem to figure out how to do it! I am using Openoffice)

(And no, I cannot be doing reading it off the screen!)

If they are going to do this as a DL file why do they not produce it is a more usable format!

Just tried in Foxit & it's ok, haven't you got a option in your printer menu to scale up, etc.

You have 'Custom Scaling' option in FoxIt reader.

Yes, I fully accept that I am functionally illiterate! :D (And this despite having an IQ in the top 1 percentile) I read and speak well, but have the writing ability of a 10 year old (If that) WP + Spell-check is my only route to written work!

Spell-check doesn't appear to operate on the title bar for some reason!

Sorry, I jest! (my spelling is also terrible)

My problem was that I (More or less) learned to read on my own. By the time I got to primary school I was reading stuff like the Hobbit and basic books on engineering/science!

Unable to field questions regarding nuclear Fission etc from a 5 year old, the poor primary school teachers simply gave up and just dumped me in the local library for the day so I had very little formal teaching regarding writing/spelling. (And it was the 60's which made it even worse!) Since I learned to read on my own, (And therefore in my own way and not phonetically) I never actually picked up spelling or writing (which I guess is normally done at the same time with most people)

It's funny you were excluded from school due to a liking for nuclear fission while I was excluded from physics for ******* around. It seems you just can't win.

Somewhat later I ended up at a boarding school. (Late 60's, early 70's Which was great fun! It really was a bit like Harry Potter!) but I never overcame my earlier illiteracy.

However during my time i got into trouble for...(Amongst other things)

#1 Setting up a Brewery and selling the produce (£2/Pint! 1975 or thereabouts! :D )

#2 Manufacturing firework missiles with explosive warheads!

Obviously I got my ass dragged over hot coals for this. But...

The HM was obviously impressed!

He could hardly contain his laughter (especially over the brewery!)

I don't imagine boarding school is anything like as much fun nowadays which is really rather sad actually. :(
