prison break/24/lost

I'll recommend Hustle. It's not driven by an ongoing plot so much - obviously there is one, but it's not like it develops from episode to episode, the episodes are very standalone. It's excellent telly though! Very fun to watch.

Agreed, after watching only 24 i gave this series a go and found i quite liked it as well but 24 still rocks :D

All of which are merely arguments in favour of scrapping the license fee, IMO. Why should those of us who choose not to watch mindless crap like Eastenders be forced to fund its production for others?

No more than people who choose not to watch Hustle should have to pay for it - these things work both ways. The BBC ought to offer value for money for everyone, and despite being neither an Eastenders or World cup watcher, I think it does a decent job. Since abolishing the license fee would almost without doubt mean the end of quality advertisement-free television forever, I'd rather keep things as they are.

And whether I like Eastenders or not, it's not "mindless crap", it's just doesn't happen to appeal to you. Others would say similar things about 24 or Lost.

You wanna watch LOST mate ;)

"Man of Science, Man of Faith" UK TV Premiere
Tuesday, May 2nd at 10:00pm GMT on Channel 4 - The beginning of season 2

Make sure you've watched season 1 first ;)

But if you really can't watch the first series and want to watch the second as it airs, there's a recap episode early on Monday (1st May) evening.

Managed to watch the entire series of Playmakers this weekend (only 11 episodes), it was thoroughly enjoyed. Recommended.

Also currently watching Supernatural, thats quite good too. Bit cheesy though.

:)

Indeed, even more reason to scrap the license fee then.

Well I, and a great many others, would prefer to decide for myself how to spend my money. Much is made of the BBC's supposed quality and how this would be a great loss if the license fee were to be abolished but frankly I think a large chunk of this quality has already disappeared.

The BBC still does a few things very well, such as news coverage, and it would be a shame if we lost that but frankly I don't feel I'm getting value for money out of the license fee these days and there are a great many people who agree with me.

I was expressing my opinion, to which I'm entitled.

Great series. Apart from the main guy in Miami that never looks at anyone he's talking to :\

i haven't looked in too much detail, but am i the first to suggest scrubs :| ?

I was under the impression we were talking dramas here. But hell yes Scrubs should be recommended. As should Arrested Development!

I like La Femme Nikita, re-running on Sci-Fi channel at the moment. From the same people that went on to do 24 and starring Peta Wilson. :)

Just can't seem to find the DVD releases of it other than import. :(

Deadwood was good when it was on and I'm also watching Yes Prime Minister on UK Gold.

Watching Prison Break but its typical American drama stringing it out longer than necessary. I found out this morning it's 22 episodes LOL! and I think we are only on 14. He's supposed to be going to the chair within a week..

I'm getting bored with it tbh..

aye the topic kinda swayed that way, but the OP never really specified a specific genre, thought i'd say it anyway!
scrubs is really really great, i watch PB, lost, 24 in fact almost all american TV series, and scrubs is the one i look forward to watching most, plus it has a little bit of drama in there : D

I liked Alias up to the middle of season four. A pregnant Jennifer Garner just doesn't do the show well like in the current season on Bravo. La Femme Nikita > Alias though. :p
