Pro Evolution 2011

ive been a PES man since forever. since like 2000 anyway when i got a JPN version of winning eleven with a PS2 i was running at the time... and then

when i was at uni playing people on my customised PES install with kits, teams, and the ubiqitous USB-?PS2 converter...

we had pro evo nights at mates houses after this, 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 multi taps etc///

this is the first time i think ill be going fifa.

PES has just not moved forwards its gone backwards. true the gfx are loverly, the white glowing kits of real, the goals, awesome...

but alas PES number is up:/
 
This PES demo is absolutely dreadful.

How have they not improved the game at all after one year ?? I suppose they spent the entire year on the box art to include the additional numeral of "1".

There is no contol of the players at all. They move like robots. I'm going to be arrogant here, but those who still prefer PES now are undeniably clueless.

Fixed. FIFA is dire, i played the demo for 3 mins and was boerd. PES has a lot of depth to the game, and isn't scripted like FIFA.

Fifa = Arcade tripe
 
Come on. For 3 years PES goes whoooooosh when you score a goal. This was a plus point for many PES fans whenever the two games are debated. I really am shocked how there are people that still buy PES, it's that bad now in comparison. Really who cares about good looking replays, which is basically the only thing PES has going for it now.

btw, I used to hate Fifa so I've been on both sides.

The fanboism in this thread is unreal.

To claim that PES fans like it because of instant goals and no build ups is utterly absurd. From all the games I have played so far, it is harder to score in PES, and more gratifying when you do find the net as a result. You really need to put in the practise before you start to find the net in PES. It took me 3 games before I scored my first goal.

That said, I do like the Fifa 11 demo (PC) a lot and am still undecided on which game I prefer overall.
 
It's sad that the recent editions of Pro Evo bare no resemblance to the Pro Evo's of the PS2 era. As said above PES4 was fantastic, it was a joy to play and you felt really connected to the gameplay. I also enjoyed 5 and 6 although they are generally not regarded as being as good as 4 they were still good games.

I think I'll give the demo a few more goes. The presentation of 2011 is terrible, the menus are horrible to look at and navigate. Graphics wise I like it but the poor animations let it down. As for someone above who slated FIFA for 'ping pong' passing, PES suffers from this too :rolleyes: .
 
I ping ponged it very easily on FIFA 11 demo. Last year FIFA was the sim, and PES was the arcade...This year, FIFA is the easy arcade, PES is the sim. Fact. I have both on pre order but i know which is more realistic, and more fun to play.

What?

They've made FIFA even more like a simulation than last years iteration, so your theory that FIFA 10 was simulation football and FIFA 11 is arcade football is flawed.

Have you read the rest of his posts, I dont think he's even played FIFA 11 and is dismissing it out of hand in the blind hope his love (PES) is better.
