Will be getting this as well as FIFA this year so I have a proper football game to play as well as something for online play. Unless of course PES sorts its online out.

I never got around to playing PES10. Got FIFA10 because FIFA09 was quite good. Apart from 360 degree dribbling, I fully believe FIFA10 was a step backwards.

Well for one, it's the first PES with proper 360 degree dribbling isn't it?

I didn't say anything about FIFA10's 360 dribbling? It was THE only change from 09 that made sense.


If only PES had a Clubs mode, I wouldn't buy both. :p

No, it doesn't. It adds pre-set dribbling and skill techniques to a player. Not only that, but it adds nothing more to the game than previous editions. But of course, give it a fancy name and list it as a brand new feature and people will cream their pants.

I want a game that is determined by skill, not stats.

Offline is different, but something needs to happen online to stop the crowd of Barca and Real Madrid gays.
 
As long as it plays properly, Mr Blobby could be commentating for all I care. :)

PES has never had great commentary.

I turn it off altogether anyway in this and FIFA.

I think FIFA has got skills right in terms of the stick, the crap players just concede possession and the players who put a lot of time into learning it, like that guy on YouTube get real results, although the best skill is to just be a good passer in my opinion. That said, if I do get this it will be mainly for the offline modes, let's see what the demo is like tomorrow.

It'll be the same for everyone. The ability is there for all if you put the effort into learning it.

There's a difference between pressing one button to activate a string of 4 or 5 tricks and having to use the Skill Stick to do one move at a time. You don't activate them all with one button from what I can see, but rather can queue up different types of feints one after the other, so to use them in a row ingame like shown in the trailer would require great timing and a lot of luck for them to be the correct feint to use.
 
First game, first impression.

Really enjoyed it! The passing is really nice and feels rewarding when you beat the offside trap rather than a certainty like in FIFA.

Love the skills too. Messi was like Raptor Jesus in and around the box.

Definite purchase for me.

Seriously? I think Konami have had enough chances to get it right - theres just not enough progress being made. People complain at EA for adding small updates to FIFA each year - thats far more substantial than what Konami have done especially considering their game is so woeful.

I doubt Ill bother even downloading next years demo - only did it cos Skip was raving about the updates - considering the last game he recommended was Naughty Bear Im gonna start ignoring the little **** :p

I didn't recommend Naughty Bear, I only started the thread pre-release. ;)
