Been wanting to get an SSD and an F3 drive to run win7 off one and games off the other. Now people have been saying just get a larger SSD and just use the one.

I've only just started to look at RAID because I'm looking at more than one drive and so are many other people at the moment as it seems.

I haven't seen anyone talk about this but why is no one planning to use 2 SSD's and using RAID0?

Surely 2x velicoraptors which a good selection of people has used is nearly as quick as the average SSD?

Think velicoraptors are close to 100MB/s and the Crucial 64GB is 200MB/s so is it worth it?

I understand the issues with a single drive failure but I've never had any problems and willing to take the risk

You could always get 3 64GB Crucials and RAID 5 them, giving you 128gb of space and a failsafe. Thats if SSD can be setup in RAID of course

Velociraptors are nowhere near as quick as an SSD because of the access times and IOPS. If you can afford the two SSD's then go for it, it'll be an amazing setup. But do realise that you won't get that much advantage over a single one outside of benchmarks.
