Problem Parkers

If it's a busy street and there aren't many spaces then people just have to park wherever there is space. However if the street is fairly empty and he still parks in front of your house then he's a tool but there's nothing you can do, putting a note on his car may now make him deliberately park his car there to wind you up, some people are like that.

That could be a good point, get both your cars and block him in on either side?

Bit of *** of tat but will annoy him something rotten.

It's a shame being public.
We have a private gated car park on our new build and the parking details are all in contract.
We've had issues in the past with residents having more cars than they're allowed so we've sent a letter referencing the part of the contract and things got sorted.

No he does not block me in he just parks right outside my house. I open my door walk 2 feet and im on the public path where his car will be parked. I understand its a public street and people can park where they like but i just find it a little disrespectful when he parks right outside mine and my neigbours house when there would be plenty of other areas like opposite mine where he could park on the road alongside a wall which would be much nicer for everyone.

Its just nice to be able to come home from work and be able to park outside my own house thats all im trying to say. Everyone else round here seems to manage it just fine but this same car just seems to park outside everyone else's house! He could park round the corner as well on the road outside the flats where no one ever parks but he just doesnt.

Maybe i am just being cynical but i would never leave my car outside someone else's house but hey thats just me i guess :)

You can park in your own space, you have an allocated space and a carport (if I understand correctly). You can't expect people to not park on the street in front of your house as well.

If he's parking on the pavement, you could report that - as that's parking illegally isn't it?

Get over it. You seem to be the one with the problem and tbh you sound like the sort of person who is easily wound up over nothing, so having a word with the person will just make them park there more.

Anyway, grow up and get over it, you don't own that bit of road.

You don't own the road/pavement outside your house. It is not your land. You have no right to dictate who parks there.

Don't like it? Tough. This guy has to park his car somewhere, have some consideration for him.

The OP isn't denying this. Just doesn't understand why this person doesn't park out the way like everyone else does.

I really dont think you understand why i asked for some advice. To be honest i should have worded the title of the thread better as i make it sound as if this person is parking illegally which he is not. I understand with it being a public road you can park where you like but i cant understand where there are other more respectful areas where he could park his car he decides to always park outside other peoples houses not just mine.

Im not looking to argue with anyone i just dont get why he would do this

What difference does it make? Its a free road to park on, if this bloke doesn't park there someone else might anyway.

OP is just being a nightmare neighbour.

"I can't park on the public road outide my own house as somebody else has parked there....." First world problems much! Thread is full of fail

I live off the main road pal at the end of a cul de sac, im not saying this guy is not allowed to park here as i know legally he can i just dont understand why he does when there are other more convienent areas to park.

You are totally right mayabe i am making a montain out of a mole hill, but the only person who ever parks outside are house is me our neigbour and him no one else because they all park respectivley outside there own homes and i dont know why he cant just do the same

I see both sides to this and feel that some people do not give a hoot about others and can be very disrespectful, op, it just isn't worth it mate, this guy will go out his way to park outside your house now and I understand how frustrating it can be but he isn't doing anything illegal, he's just being a ****

How exactly is parking outside your house 'disrespectful'?

Has it occurred to you that maybe all the guy is doing is looking for a safe, well-lit area to park his car away from a main road so as to prevent damage to it and to prevent it being an obstruction to other road users?
