how do i update the bios and does it affect warrantyMine alternates between 4 and 6gb depending on the day. Was having trouble with new Bios settings from Gigabyte so reverted back to the FA release. Still does the same. I will be going to their latest beta in a week or 2. But will probably find it unstable as hell again.
how do i update the bios and does it affect warranty
thanks it sounds easy enoughEasiest way is to put the bios on a usb stick and then hit the end key on the POST screen to enter Q-Flash and flash from there. I can't see why it would affect warranty considering Gigabyte themselves are supplying the BIOS updates and also the fact that these boards come with Dual BIOS they obviously expect people to flash them. I personally always update to the latest BIOS for my board.
thanks i will see how things go first before doing itCheck this guide PAULRYAN52: http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte/27576-bios-flashing-how-qflash-guide.html
It's not difficult and only takes a couple of minutes
My board is a Rev1.0 and I've just flashed to BIOS F6 as I was stillgetting some boots without the full 6Gb - only just done the update so no idea if theres an improvement/fix![]()
when did you updateSince flashing with the F6 BIOS (rev1.0 board) I've returned my tower to it's normal position and so far had 6Gb available each boot - admittedly it's still early but successful so far![]()
looking good so farearly saturday evening, so only 48 hours ago
Running on standard clocks/voltages (basically the failsafe defaults) but using XMP profile on the RAM for 1600Mhz - this setup previously would not have given me 6Gb available for long![]()
