Problem with GTX 570 in new build

Ram moved to the blue slots.

When I start my pc now it restarts just as the windows logo comes, then power from keyboard goes and system reboots.

I then get the "no video input message" again

Did you reset the CMOS when you put the card back in? Reason I ask is the bios might have a daft setting for the speed of the PCIe slot the gcard is sat in with it overclocked or something. Long shot but you never know lol. Would definitely cause instability if it was.

Can you get into the BIOS?

If so, can you see what the CPU temperature is?

Also, is the CPU fan plugged into the correct fan header and does it spin up when you turn on the system?

If all of this is OK then I would suggest clearing the CMOS (see the manual for the details ), basically you find the jumper which is labed CLRTC which is North West of the front panel connectors and move the jumper to the alternate position (over pins 2-3 instead of 1-2) for 10 seconds then move it back. This will reset the board to factory defaults.

Got into Bios. Says CPU temp is 44. MB is 25.

CPU fan is running. I installed a Gelid cooler instead of supplied CPU one.

Just looking for the CMOS jumper

Ok done that. Bios came up.

Nothing has changed, the pc restarts right as windows is about to ask for password, then reboots and I get "no video input"

I haven't removed the graphics card since earlier.

Yes, you think that would help?

Its worth a try.

One/two questions,

The PC doesnt work with the graphics card in it and the monitor connected to the graphics card?

The PC does work without the graphics card fitted and the monitor connected to the motherboards video outputs?

Are these True or false?

Aye, it's a good idea.

If your system is crashing as soon as it starts loading windows then it is either an error with windows or a hardware fault. Here's hoping its an error with windows.

Make sure you give your disk a clean before reinstalling it.

Correct, I keep getting the message "no video input" when I have graphics card in (unless I start in safe mode). Although I didnt realise at one point that I needed to connect my monitor to the card via DVI adatper.

If I remove the graphics card and allow the on board graphics to kick in, I have no problems.

When you did your Windows install, did it ever get to the desktop? or has it always crashed at the password screen?

When I installed windows I didnt have the card installed, so all worked ok.
It is only when trying to get the gfx card installed that this issue has came up.

At the very beginning of my build, I had a DRAM light on which I have now resolved.

Without the 570 in, it all works ok. As soon as I put it in, cant get to windows
