Problem with PSU? (Corsair 520W not powerful enough?!)

As title really, I originally posted this in the graphics forum but now i'm beginning to think it could perhaps be something else? can the 520W power supply be enough for the GFX card with a 19" LCD monitor and a 26" LCD tv via a dvi to vga connector?

The PSU doesnt supply ANY power to external monitors. The PSU is fine for that setup. Are you using the correct DVI connector (The one that came with your gfx card?) as there are actually (i think) about 3 different types).

yep, thats what i thought - the moitors have their own power supply however it still has to send a signal to the ports though. the dual ports seem ok by themselves but not when used together.. anything else could be wrong?

plug in one load windows up

then plug in the other (lcd) while in windows
and detect them in catalyst control panel

you're right...

booted into windows with single lcd monitor; plugged in lcd tv and configured then rebooted;

system now posts and goes into windows vista without probs - how strange.

my only concern is that every so often (maybe 1 in 7 bootups) will result in a hang (pre-post) that seems to sort itself with a reset or unplugging the lcd tv

....wonder if its the gfx card...
