problems running games on new machine

Hmm. Sure you've fixed the chkdsk errors? Do you have another disk in the PC now that you could install XP on quickly to eliminate your current HDD? Or have you got a spare HDD you could install XP onto?

I have never had issues with letting Windows Managing the page file. I have only had issues when I manually set the size.

sadly I don't have any spares, and chkdsk is no longer throwing up any errors so i presume it's fixed

is a reformat recommended then? if not, I am going to put another ticket in with OCUK to return the Mobo and ram as i'm having no luck with this and is causing major frustration

Yeah I'd try a re-format. At least you'll have tried. If that still doesn't work, then raise another ticket with OcUK.
