Im having great dificulties setting up a home network.

I have a linksys router, wich both computers are connected to.
Both can connect to the internet fine.
Both machines have static Ip addresses.

Machine 1 is connect by lan
Machine 2 by wirless

Machine 1 can see Machine 2s files as long as Machine 2s firewall is off.

Machine 2 can see machine 1 when machine 1 firewall is down, but cant see the files or anything else.

Ive tried setting up both firewalls to allow acces from the respective Ip addresses but it doesnt seem to work.

Any ideas, guides or help..

Is there a config file or something I can post to help?

Which firewall are you using and have you ran the Windows XP network setup on both (assuming they're both XP)

make sure all pcs have, file & print sharing turned on, and all pcs are on the same workgroup

allso if any of them are using windows 2000, make sure the Guest is active via Administrative Tools> Computer Management> Local Users.. Users

hmm u could manualy set the ip's for each pc and im sure that will work

here is a screeny of what to do

all u have to do is add the router ip to the boxs marked and change the X to any number from 2 to 255 for each pc

reboot both pcs and that should work
