Problems when trying to share media with PS3!!!

hi, i cannot share my media with my PS3 in XP, i have tried to follow guides online, however i always face two problems.

1st Problem:

the process will not start and this error message keeps on re-occuring.

2nd Problem:

This image shows wmp11 freezing everytime i tick the box and select OK, i am beginning to think this is being caused by the 1st problem as the process to share the media is not starting.

When on the PS3 it says UPNP is enabled on my router which leads me to suspect that it is the computer, not the router or PS3.

Have you been running any "tweak" tools or manually disabling services at any point?

What does it say in the "Log on" tab?

i have now managed to fix both those problems above, unfortunately i cannot see the ps3 in the image below, i have tried searching for the computer on the ps3 etc, yet still no luck

i would prefer to use wmp11

Alrighty then, found a solution for the problem.

Type Services.msc in Start, Run dialog

Locate and double-click the UPnP Host service from the list

Click the Log On tab

In the This account text box, type in NT AUTHORITY\LocalService

Set both the Password fields blank

Click Apply, OK

Restart Windows and set the UPnP Host service to Automatic or Manual, and then start the service.

Just incase future people have this problem.

Might be worth a shot.

and fixed both the problems, now the problem is getting wmp11 to see the ps3

Turn it off and search again. If it appears then it will be a firewall rule that is the problem.

turned off firewall and still doesn't work, so it must be wmp11
