Problems with new PC...help?

okay. then got to "Search" and type in "event viewer", then to "custom views tab" then "Admin Events" and have a click on the Red triangles and read below what error events are logged.

No errors or anything, however I just tested this PC with a different power supply and guess what, everything went fine, I could play for twenty minutes or more, then I just turned the game off since this shows it's definetly a power supply issue. The PSU I used is my neighbours, so I can't take it from him now, that's too bad lol.

PSU I tested wtih: Atrix 650w Transparent Power Supply
I remember I bought it about a year ago since the neighbours PC is my old PC that I sold him...
http://www.******.co.uk/atrix-650w-transparent-power-supply-22920 Censored store is M A P L I N

It's probably not one of the best PSU's out there, but it worked real well, it feels real sturdy and a proper PSU not like I currenly use...

I've noticed they Atrix now sells different version of this PSU, which I doubt are better than I had previously...so I guess my options are:

1. Buy exactly same PSU from internet - I am guaranteed it will work.
2. Buy a similar Atrix 650W newer vesion which I doubt is as good as the old one.
3. Buy something you guys recommend, something cheap, reliant and known to be a good PSU, I am not willing to pay a lot for it though...

The first one you offered seems pretty decent I suppose, yet outside my budget limits, since delivery costs 6 quid or so, I will end up paying £65-70 for it :P I was looking for something decent for up to 50 incl delivery.

You 100% certain the cooler's on properly mate? I had the exact same with my backup 775 rig, I swore for ages it was on right, turned out one of the pins wasn't on right... it clicked when it went in, but at the back of the board, it clearly hadn't gone through all the way.

Okay my PSU is EZCOOL-700W-MOD

NNOoooOoOooo....!!

Sorry for the drama, but I would not even give those away. Never skimp on PSUs. First port of call.

Instead of the CX, get the Antec HCG for a few quids more (then the XFX 650 still a bit more). Much better imofor gaming (It's a rebadged seasonic S12II 620, 580W on 12V, well above 80% efficiency, cool and quiet). If £62 too expensive, Then £55 give you the XFX 550W, £45 the BeQuiet Pure L7, but really go for the Antec given your hardware or at least the XFX 550 which has decent 12V power, or something even better (750W and 4 PCIE connectors on it would be recommended if you plan on SLI 560ti later).

Oh yeah and your CPU seems a bit toasty for stock and idle. Reseat the cooler it may have a bad contact with the CPU.

was about to post and say your PSU is crap, then you'd posted that you'd tried another one and that it was ok..lol get a decent PSU.

As said, never skimp on a good quality Power Supply, especially when its going to be powering top end components like a i7 and GTX 560 ;)

Always go for better well known and better build PSU's like Corsair, OCZ etc.

Heat could be a few things, did you put any Thermal Paste on? did you put too much on, is the HSF seated correctly? Is the Bios fan speeds set up properly, does the Bios temperatures reflect the same readings as in Windows (the software may need updating for example), do you have good airflow in your case (you may be in inadvertently pushing hot air back towards the cpu).

Theres a load of variables to high readings, but I would without a shadow of a doubt suggest getting rid of that PSU and Stock HSF and get some good quality replacements :)

I went to PC World and took the last OCZ 700W StealthXStream 2 ATX...

It works fine for now, so hopefully it at least lasts couple of months lol...though I am sure it will cover a year at least for me :P

Case closed :)
