Problems with windows 7 installation.

i keep getting BOOTMGR is missing,
Press ctrl alt delet to restart!
EDIT: nvm i booted it from the boot manager

I think that that implies that it's trying to boot from the hard drive before the CD drive, and therefore can't find a boot sector as you don't have one installed yet. Put the CD drive as the top boot priority.

I assume that your mobo is putting 1.8v through it as default. You have a choice between leaving it as it is, and not having it working, or upping it by 0.5v, potentially having it working, but possibly (but probably not) frying your RAM.

It's +0.05 :(

Unfortunately it looks like your motherboard's memory options are pathetic. Just been reading some reviews and it looks like a known issue.

You can try the +0.05 option, but that will still only give you 1.85, which I doubt will run the OCZ RAM properly. If you still get errors with the +0.05, you might need to change some hardware :( It would mean either a different motherboard, or some different RAM that can run at 1.8v, like this.

Try the +0.05, though - you never know.

If it were me, I'd risk it. However, it's your choice I'm afraid :)

It's only 0.05 volts, which presumably will take it to 1.85 if it's default value is 1.8v, i'd bump it up, although it still might not be enough.

EDIT: beaten to it

How would i get the firmware onto the mobo if i cant get the os installed :'(
Or will it do it through bios?
It has an installation disk for the mobo, should i try putting that in?

realy coupe69?
If so and the voltage is definatly the problem then it looks like i better get one it :(

Ah,so do i burn a disk and shove it in?
Also, should i try the disk it came with?

Not sure I'm afraid, I've never upgraded my mobo's firmware before. I assume that it would have nothing to do with the OS though, as the motherboard's firmware comes at a lower level than it.

You might be better off talking to OcUK tomorrow though and seeing what they can do for you...

You can install bios updates with a floppy or usb key, I would personally send it back though and get a decent board. If you want a decent cheap board with better overclocking options than that foxconn try the Asus P5KPL-AM iG31. I recently built a htpc with this in and the memory you're trying to use with no issues whatsoever.

Anyway, on that note I'm off to bed...doesn't sound like there's much else we can do to help you out until you make a decision about your mobo I'm afraid mate.

Hope that it works out, let us know what happens, or post again tomorrow if you need any more help :D

OK, I found the BIOS updates for that board. But there's nothing there about memory voltage :(

I agree with coupe - I'd be tempted to get a different board. You could alternatively get some different RAM, but the RAM you have is decent whereas the board is the problem. I'd call OcUK in the morning and see what they say.

I'm off to bed too - shame we couldn't get this sorted!

k, non of the things on the site look like the kind of update i would need http://www.foxconnchannel.com/support/downloads.aspx?ProductModel=P35A-S&TypeID=en-us0000003

Just has these errors in mem test:

ok.
Do you know if there number is free because i only have a contract phone :-s
I will talk to them and ask if they have a suitible board in the same price range, or if i should just downgrade the ram.
I cant afford to move much more in the price im at, especialy with costs for shipping stuff back to them :(
