"procrastinating"

i used this ince school... it was my excuse for getting out of homework.. :) non of the other kids knew what it meant so it seemed like a good excuse... but now the tables have turned and i actually procrastinate a hell of a lot!!

"Procrastination isn't the problem, it's the solution. So procrastinate now, don't put it off."
- Ellen DeGeneres

Definitely a uni word. Though I did use it at school a lot, always been in my vocabulary somewhere. It's a stupid thing to do as if you just bloody got whatever it is done, then you can relax without it hanging over you... But then there's always *something* that needs doing. Sigh.

I wouldn't have thought it a particularly unusal word or one that has recently seen a resurgence in popularity but I hardly follow the trends of word usage. :)

I do have a t-shirt with "Procrastinators - leaders of tomorrow" or similar on it which I rather like because it is both true and insults the present leadership subtly.

whoa.. so during an msn conversation yesterday someone mentioned this word and i asked for a definition.. a few hours later and someone uses the word on my [facebook] wall! and now a thread on it.. oo..

Have to admit I needed to look that up. What's wrong with 'persistent'?

I have rediscovered 'discombobulated' which is rather nice, if a bit of a bar-stewardisation!

Nothing is wrong with it, but it means something completely different.

...I suppose you could have a persistent procrastinator: Someone who regularly procrastinates and resists changing.
