Productive things to do on a commute

Just been thinking...I spend 1.5hrs commuting every day, so not outrageous, but even so over a 226 day working year that equates to 340 hours of listening to Alan Brazil hungover or Adrian Durham arguing with himself.
This is literally my exact commute. :D

Mickey Quinn days make me want to change though.

I spend most of mine trying to teach people how to use motorways and roundabouts properly with only angry facial expressions, gesturing through a window and shouting despite knowing no one can hear you.

My train journey each way is about 20 minutes. I read my kindle. Just started the second Shannara book.

I did things from doing actual work, Nintendo DS, iPhone games, books, films on Netflix, iPad games, forums to audio books but I found the most useful is actually sleeping.

With the long commute it means I had to get up earlier and it's my way to catch up on some sleep.

Yeah. I'm only 25mins on the tube but if I get a seat I'm asleep like a baby.
I've fallen asleep on the way home a few times and missed my stop

On the way to work these days (normally 30 mins on tube) I will either watch something I have previously downloaded, or listen to music and play backgammon. I used to learn languages using Babbel, which I found better than Duolingo. Should get back to it really.

Nintendo Switch - Zelda/Mario Kart/Tetris.

I like the idea of listening to a couple of new albums every day as suggested too.

Read a book, or do some work on the laptop. Learn a skill or a language, or catch up on TV programmes.

My commute is only 80mins each way, with a 45min train to London - so just about enough time to get into a good book. I tried to teach myself some coding, just because, but it's quite hard to do it on a train on laptop IMO. And it's not really relevant to my job at all in the slightest.

I've been reading some management/professional development books, but it's not that exciting.

On the way home I usually have Radio 2 on and have learnt more than I thought I would with the homework segment.

As a car commuter I love podcasts (This Week in Tech in particular), lets me keep up with tech news without requiring me to sit and look stuff up, and keeps me a little more open to the broader scene (AKA lots of Apple news that I can't skip over).

Podcasts, audiobooks (I partridge is amazing as Partridge reads it) and play zelda on nintendo switch. You could burn 100 hours on zelda. If the train has a loo you could also do some poohs / me time.
