Great case, love all the work you've put on here so far
Bought myself an Antec P182 today and was wondering how would I go about painting the inside of the case? I prefer the gun metal look of the P182SE but for £50 more I couldn't justify it. Was hoping I would be able to change mine from silver to gun metal for under that price, just not sure what I need to do it!
I can get it powder coated for £50 but was hoping to do it for less really and myself to tie in with my new w/c build that's going in it!
to be brutally honest mate, you are probably better off getting it powder coated...
Painting bare metal is quite hard thing to do, and although you can do it on the cheap using the correct materials from halfrauds, you can never really get the toughness of a powder coat or paint job using proper etch primers and catylised paints.
this is amplified for case innards too, as they recieve a lot of abuse. This bioshock one is painted rather than powder coated, but it is easier as it is just 4 or so flat metal panels.
The end user will still have to take care when installing the hardware as it will still be prone to scratching, just not as prone as a halfrauds style paint job...
in short... as a painter - I would recommend powder coat for pure cheapness and toughness.
