[PROJECT] Airbrushed 'Bioshock' TJ-07

As I near the end of this eventful little project, I would like to thank everyone for their support, and very kind words.
I hope you all have learned a thing or two, such as how to airbrush from a reference photo, some cool graphics and effects, and where to send your cases for a custom paint job :P... Seriously though, I love to keep these project logs as i think they offer something a little different. And when i started airbrushing there was nothing like this around that i could see and watch progress. So i hope i have helped some one out, somewhere.

These are the pics before it gets sent for clear coat. It will be going on Sunday, so I will spend Saturday cleaning up, fixing little mistakes and signing the work to complete it.

I'll just let the pics do the talking here.
but just before i let them talk... this is the case in a rough state, its all patchy, some bits rough, some smooth some shiny, some flat. the colours are a little flat too.
you would not believe how much of a difference the clear coat will make, so bare that in mind folks

Cases are not the only things being painted in my house at the moment by the way ! This is not my usual dining room decor.

they are being plastered, and then wallpapered.
My parents like wallpaper :/ weird i know. I wouldnt mind a crack at those walls :D

Saffye, If you are going to use the board, i wouldn’t recommend it !

the masking film i use is known as frisket film. It is similar to sticky back plastic. Don’t use sticky back plastic lol!
Frisket film is a low tack film which you can cut masks out of and it is great for airbrushing with.

An alternative is just just use good ol' low tack masking tape. and cut what ever you want out of that.

Don't use the 'sticker' material that name badges are made from. It's too porous, too sticky and will just make one big mess!

My only comment would be I think the RB customs logo inside is too in your face and ruins some of the lovely rust effect you did ...I think smaller or more subtle would be better .

It was the only chance i got to have it 'in yer face'

This way photo's of the case with no system in it will carry my name and will be hard to miss.

don't forget that theres a motherboard that sits right over that logo. . . once the case is used you wont be able to see it ;)


case is all wrapped up and going fro clear TOMORROW ! ! !

Everythign is being clearcoated now, should be ready by wednesday / thursday :D

Hi guys :)

I must urge some members to respect that these forums belong to overclockers and not me. I am only here to show people what can be done with an airbrush, share my work, and call people girls for using vinyl stuck on artwork
PLEASE do not ask me questions about 'work' here, they will not be answered!

small update:
Havnt put all the case back togeather yet as some parts need to be re-cleared when the current clear has fully hardened.

i know, i know a complete lack of pics lately...
I have just been SO busy, also my houise is being re plastered, furnished, painted etc so no room to swing a cat, or assemble computer cases:(
 
Hi guys.

THe case has been finished, but it's currently sitting int he box, having been used for a demo system.

I will need to un box ity soon to get some proper pictures, as it has to go for sale pretty soon :(

it finished up really nice, although the guys who clearcoated it, frankly did not do all that good a job i was hoping for, and some parts of the paintwork ended up slightly damaged as a result... which im not really too happy about.

I'll get the new piccies up as soon as i can.
