Project: Angel

rich, got a question for you regarding the angel case.

ive taken the drive bay compartment out via 4 screws at the front, ive put my dvd, res, fan controller into it and went to put the drive bay back into the case and it wont go back in !

there is 4 screws at the side which stop it going back in,how did you get everything into the drive bay and tighten the screw's up ?

kind of a bad design but im sure can be worked out.

Ah, this old chestnut - takes me back to head scratching lol.

If memory serves and it is what I'm thinking of you need to install the DVD drive as you would a normal case without removing the drive bay holder if you are using normal hex screws (which sort of makes the drive bay holder useless).

If you are using the allen screws (that you use to screw on the side panels) it just fits iirc. The way to fit them is you remove the drive bays, fit your devices screwing the centre side of the drive bays but leave the outer screws for now. That way you can just get the drive bay in if you put it at a slight angle and 'wiggle'. Once the drive bay is back in the case, screw the left and right side of the remaining devices by removing the windows. Replace windows and job done.

You could always buy a flexible screw driver, something like this:

which works a treat ;).

Evening rich.
Just another question for you.

What size braiding did you use for your psu ?

If its ok can you link (or send me via pm) where you got your braiding from, there is so many places about I'm not sure the best one to go for.

I've got a psu to braid soon and wanted to get some braiding in.

What are the molex removal tools like ?

Individual wires = 3 or 4mm 3:1 heatshrink

Sorry m8 can't do that I'm afraid as it would be unethical considering I'm am unofficial OCUK staff. Just google Dense weave braid and you won't go far wrong. MDPC do some very nice braid but it is rather expensive.

Waste of time. They are ok for one or two wires but will break under lots of use. Just get some cork pins which do the same thing, a lot cheaper and don't break :).

Just be prepared for hours of work. Braiding a PSU is VERY time consuming - set aside at least 8 hours, more if it's your first time.

MDPC is king of the hill for braiding. OR the Bitfenix Alchemy stuff is pretty good for extensions, if you're lazy and just want a solid colour.

You do pay a bit of a premium for the MDPC stuff though, and Nils is ill atm apparently (work related), so it can be fun trying to order the stuff. Saying that it really is high quality stuff.

I've tried some of the 'other' brand heatshrink and braid, and it's not up to the same quality really :(

But yeah, look for the Bitfenix Alchemy stuff. Actually, thinking about it, I can't quite remember, but Schizo, if you've got a Corsair PSU, it'd be worth waiting to see if they bring their White pre-braided complete cable set to the UK... (Think they're going to)...

Thanks for the reply guys ;)

The cost of braiding isn't a problem as I've just purchased a 1500 watt power supply for my build and I want the cable braiding to look good.

I'll have a scout round when I get home from work and see what's out there,I need to order some more tygon tubing so I'll order some braiding as well.
