Project Corsair 900D

i've checked in the others boxes and the same :(

Funnily enough, I've looked through all the pictures I've posted and you can't see them due to the angles... Sorry!

Saturday should be "boot" day...

I had to order the multi-links from the Netherlands again, and it's a 3 day turn around... But they were shipped today, so I hold out hope!!!

This evenings update:

I managed to figure out why my GPU loop wasn't bleeding properly...

I'd been running the pump on my system (as shown near the start of the build) and it was set to 25% speed... so it didn't have the pressure required to get the bubbles etc out of the loop... OOOPS!

Well I hooked up the USB cable to the back of the D5 then realised that I still can't boot my PC... grrrrr...

Fortunately I bought a card reader a while back which I had to buy a 5pin USB to USB male.
I installed Aquasuite on my Laptop, and plugged in the D5 then started up the pump.
Everything all popped up, so I rammed the pump speed up to 100% and it cleared out the bubbles in no time!

Following this discovery I connected up all my fans using the nice Noctua "Y" cables they provide. This was then connected to the PWM fan header on the Aquaero 5 (yes that's right 10 NF-F12's on a single PWM header.
Then I connected the 2 Scythe GT's I have mounted in the front
(That reminds me, I forgot to take a shot of that:

)
to fans headers 1 & 2, and the 140mm fan to the 3rd fan header.

And powered on my spare PSU to boot it up.

On a minor note, I almost hit my bandwidth cap for the month on my image hosting site... 7.6gb out of 10gb (it's a good job it resets tomorrow)

Ok now

Question time:

Should I install some LEDs? I haven't made a decision about this yet, so I'm looking for suggestions...

I started sleeving the 24pin ATX last night, but I find sleeving to be a very slow process.

I also needed to resolve the fact that 2 pins from the PSU go into a single one on the motherboard side, and also there is a pin missing on the motherboard side.

So I have added a plastic cable joiner (you know the ones with a couple of screws in that allow you to attach cables togeather, heatshrunk over it, and it will hide behind the motherboard.

I have also added a false pin which I will heatshrink to another one behind the motherboard tray.

It will probably take a couple more days for me to finish this off as I'm not at home tonight.

I was going to use the 4+8 pin extension that comes with the motherboard, however I have re-pinned one of the PCI-E cable to match the 4 PIN and remove the extra pins (else I would have had to use the above connecters for 4 of the cables instead, which i am averse to doing), so it makes more sense to use 2 cables from the power supply instead.

Then later I will do the SATA cables and the 4 pin MOLEX connector.

I'm still uncertain if I'm going to resleeve the fan cables, however I am doing the Aquabus connectors as the sleeving is really loose and you can see straight through it.

I thought Noctua was going to make some Black fans anyway? I saw a few pics of these posted on some E3 coverage? I Think they still had the brown corners but the main body of the fan was black!

Would be better suited to this build though as you can paint the corners to match your colour scheme!

As previously stated I will be dying the fans once I have run them for a while.

Looks good Jester :)

What color dye are you planning to use on the fans? just curious.

I'm sure the end result will be epic!

I think i'm going to do the Fans Blades in black and the chassis to match my cabling so Black / white purple black.

Although there have been a few setbacks, which I will go into once I've done some more testing.

Most of the stuff has now turned up (I'm still missing a single SATA cable).

Ok So there's been a brief hiatus....

However there will be more updates tonight.

Wow, I can't believe the number of issues I've had....

Right. Testing is completed.

There was an issue with one of my power cables (nothing to do with anything I'd done, it was the MOLEX / Floppy converter for the AX1200i).

To cut a long story short; it fried my RAM and my Mobo.

Sad times.

The fact that I'd installed water blocks on everything yada yada yada meant that I had to buy new components.
At the time I was concerned I'd fried at least one of my Titan's and I spent quite a few days panicking.

Anyway, parts are now replaced installed and that system now boots! YAY!

However it appears that it's also taken my USB hub with it... which is a shame, as I need to get a new one.

However It has given me a huge opportunity to finish sleeving all of my cables (I've got a few left to do, but I think we're almost there).

I will take some photos tomorrow as I've finished all of the exposed sleeving, Installed the Aquaereo. Refitted the motherboard / ram blocks with the new kit and refilled and leak tested the loops.... Good times.

Right, having finished all the cabling, etc. I really do think that it needs some lighting.
Given the amount of work / cash I've put in it just looks so dull (also the LEDs on the RIVE are very obvious)

Currently up and stable @ BLK 125, 36x multi (4.5ghz) & 2000mhz RAM (looking into getting some better speeds on this).

At normal operation we're at CPU temps of 30c & GPU's @ 24c and 27c

Also I don't have a single fan running above 600rpm.... so it's so quiet!!!

Which is pretty awesome.

Prime95 pushed the CPU to 50c and the cores no higher than 60c, which I'm pretty pleased with.

However the RAM does require some work!!

Ok so I got the 2 30cm lengths of LED's and no adheasive... SUCKS! Anyway I'll figure something out on that count, at the moment I'm using sellotape.... (shhhh)

Anyway onwards with the photos!

I forgot to clean the CPU loop drain tap until after I looked at this photo....

The whole rig (minus 2 monitors)
The windows gives quite a bit of glare off the LEDs, however in Real Life it's nothing like as bad...

I will post some OC / cooling setup pics tomorrow once I've had a bit of time to work on them...

Thanks for looking all!!!!

(EDIT: And yes before anyone mentions it, I'm perfectly aware that the fan's need spraying still... thank you)

Reminder to self...

450rpm is NOT enough to keep 2 titan's cool playing Metro Last Light....

They did only go up to 58c but my rads were hot to the touch...

Whacking all the fans onto full dragged all the temps back down in just under 2 mins tho....

After setting up my Aquaero, and removing the bottom side panels to improve air flow:

I'm not getting anything above 50c. Which is awesome.

Gaming Metro Last Light cpu - 37c, GPU's 49c & 44c seems pretty good to me

Fans still running under 1000rpm so still super quiet.

Why do you need 32 gig of 2133 Ram? Do you need it for work or something...that's a whole pile of fast ram for Metro :p
I have 32GB of RAM for 1 real reason, 16GB of ram with the Ram blocks on just didn't look right.

And I didn't really want to use 8x2gb sticks.

Oh it's pretty. How you getting on with the Strike ? I've been tempted a few times to splash out is that the 5 or 7 ?

It's the Strike 7.

It has really nice tactile feel (for a rubber dome keyboard).

I also like the fact that I can drop the Arrorw keys & num pad off it, so I can game "narrower".

But still have them easily available to use.

(I also have a Razer Orbweaver Stealth, an MMO 7 & a corsair m65).

(I just can't use the MMO7 for FPSs
