Project: Erebus

This build oozes class.

Very nice can't wait to see the coolant make this build it looks awesome.

Fantastic, can't wait to see it!

Looking forward to the final product. So far so good

Nice. Really, really nice. :D

Thank you very much for all your comments. Much appreciated :)

Currently Blitzing the system before I fill with the custom Mayhems purple pastel coolant. More pics shortly.

I'll also be showing the finished build at the Alphacool stand at Insomnia 55, if you'll be there come and check out the build!

How long did it take to plan and bend the pipework? Looks very well done

Superb work so far. Those jigs deserve a thread of their own :D
Your tubing bends are also excellent. :)

Thanks guys - I spent a long long time doing other prep before I even started with the tubing. For example measuring and cutting the holes in the midplate, and remounting the res. I had to get that perfect, as even though it's a big case, there's surprisingly little space to work with once you shove 2x 480 mm push/pull rads in there!

But doing the actual tubing, I reckon took a couple of days on/off. I measured everything at least three times with a Monsoon measuring kit (pretty useful). Cutting and chamfering the ends was pretty quick with a Dremel. It was mostly measuring, doing sums and drawing it out that took time.

The run from GPU to CPU took a couple of attempts - at first I tried a 90º/90º, but it wouldn't fit in the space, so then I used 90º and 45º. Everything else I got first time. 16/12 tubing is hard work!

The jig I made was pretty much the minimum possible bend radius before the tubing would deform. I was scouring the house looking for an object with the right diameter - eventually I found one, a bottle of hayfever nasal spray, that I demolished with the Dremel ;)

Superb work and damn, them gpu's look great together. This is going to be a beast!

Thanks - the GPU blocks have definitely grown on me. I think it's quite an industrial look?

Im loving that little front panel mod, i might give that a go. Is there anything to watch out for or was it pretty straight forward?

Excellent work on the tube bending. Worth the effort doing it properly. It's going to look great when you get the coloured coolant in.

Sorry guys I don't know why but my notifications for the forum aren't working?

Pretty straightforward if you have a Dremel. You'll need some fairly thick stick pads to attach the bits, as they are hollow underneath. Also, you might lose some paint on the cut edge revealing the metal beneath - I used a black marker to cover it.

Thanks mate. I'm very happy with the coolant from Mayhems. See below for finished pics...

After several months planning and work, the project has finally reached completion. The ultimate 4K gaming computer with trifire R9 290X, X99 and DDR4 RAM. Full rigid watercooling loop including dual D5 pumps and two 480mm radiators.

Thanks to Alphacool for displaying the finished system at Insomnia Gaming Festival 55. That was a lot of fun! And a special thanks to all the sponsors for this project: Corsair, Alphacool, iiyama, E22, Mayhems and Lamptron.
