I used to seriously lust after these many years ago, still looks beastly :)

Oh by the way in the above pics you've got your number plate on back to front :D
 
Ridden shotgun (and in the back with comedy headroom) in this car. I'm not sure if I was convinced on the handling & 4WD characteristics (not the cars fault, it's just my own taste) but it certainly went forwards in an impressive manner and made lovely noises.

Shame about that front wing, the car looks awesome otherwise. Will that ECU give you any more PSI then?

Probably my driving tbh and the road. I am very ham fisted with the car and so it probably does not do it justice, I am sure it can be driven a lot more smoothly and will probably impress more. :)

The ECU will change the boost from 0.9bar to 1.1-1.2 bar and should see me happily past the 300bhp mark.
 
I'd be very very careful, the stock bottom end won't take that. I only ever ran 1.1BAR through mine and this was the result...

Was that with the standard turbo? as at those pressures its a super heater.

Seems to be he luck of the draw there is a guy on gt4oc who has been running 1.2bar on standard internals for 60k. Then there are people like you who are unlucky and their engine goes pop.

It will probably be mapped to run 1.3 for safety incase it overboosts, day to day it will run at 0.9bar and 1.1 for fun times. :cool:
 
1.3 for safety? crikey!

If you're having to save up for fig8s then just bear in mind that you'll be paying about 3-4 grand to replace a popped engine.

Well it makes no sense to map it to 1.1bar only, what if it overboosts and there is no map, that is worse than one or two runs at a higher boost for safety.

It will never run 1.3 on the road as I am well away of the engines going pop and the ridiculous costs to fix them. :)
 
You the chap who posted on here before crimbo where someone cut infront of you on a big round about and tried to drive through you ?

If so did it all get sorted yet ?

i work for toyotagt / 3sservice centre.

i healthy st205 engine will take 1.2 fine as long as the charge cooler is in good shape and the map on the ecu is good!!

who are you gettin to map the link? i would highly reccomend ryan from 2bartuning.

a good map at 1.2 bar on a hybrid should see you around 320hp on a st205

even the stock turbo at 1.2 bar will do over 300 easy

as for the knocking, you have to change bothte fig8's and bottom arms at the same time as teh knocking fig8's put wear on thw bottom arms so you need to replace them too.

you are looking in the £900 area to have them supplied and fitted.....not a cheap job

not trying to start an argument mate but i agree. Its hardly a project is it ?

no more so than everybody else's car on here. If your into your cars, i think most peoples car's are an "ongoing project".

Still threads not harming or bothering anybody so i dont care, but just passing comment.

Yeah I half expected it to be them, I am shocked as they were changed about 30k ago.

I am getting Lydon formely of Rogue iirc? Got a good reputation in the MR2 circles.
