Project GT4

not trying to start an argument mate but i agree. Its hardly a project is it ?

no more so than everybody else's car on here. If your into your cars, i think most peoples car's are an "ongoing project".

Still threads not harming or bothering anybody so i dont care, but just passing comment.

A sub forum where people could stick in an on going log of their car and what they've done/will do would get around this and possible encourage more people to post without the fear of people down playing what they have done because at the end of the day its all relative. For me fitting a new filter and changing the plugs is a full on project for example :p

Just an idea anyway...

As for the car- looks good!

Suppose its all relative to your experience, if you've never held a spanner before then plugs and oil could be a project (i suppose), but for the likes of me it would have to be a Turbo swap / suspension change / brake upgrade / engine swap etc.

Cars looking good btw, still not sold on the white wheels, doesn't go well with silver imho.

Yeah I half expected it to be them, I am shocked as they were changed about 30k ago.

I am getting Lydon formely of Rogue iirc? Got a good reputation in the MR2 circles.

Sorry, if you wamt me to get a mod to change the title to "A year in the life of a GT4" I am more than happy to do that? :)

yeah lyndon is good, him and ryan are good friends.

i thought lyndon had given up on teh mapping side of things and thought he was wonly doing intallation of electrical stuff, i could be wrong tho.

Nice, but a WRC in white with white OZ Chronos is where it's at :D

My old one, before some numpty crashed into it and wrote it off.

Glad to see your finally pulling your finger out and doing some modding!!

FYI, there is a guy on a well known auction site who sells genuine Fig 8s and arms for the GT4, got mine from him and saved quite a bit of cash compared to retail prices.

Fig 8's are around £95 each, lower arms are about £190 and banana arms are about £150. I found the banana arms were fine on mine, after i'd replaced the small metal tube they have that can break sometimes.

OK finally an update to make it a project thread.

Took the car to my friends who originally built the car for me, it is now lacking the following

-Power steering fluid
-Oil
-Gear box oil
-Battery
-Alternator
-Chargecooler
-Air filter
-Down pipe
-Turbo (being sent to be clocked and bracket fitted)

So the task was to start to fit the FMIC move the battery to the boot and fit a straight intake also fit a second hand wing.

How it started

Hmmm minus a few parts now

New gearbox oil cooler installed and PAS cooler moved, managed to keep the A/C even though there has been no gas in the system for 2 years. :o

FMIC test mounted with cable ties, think I need a smaller number plate.

We have moved the cooler a few inches higher so you can see it through the top grill for maximum cooling

So next weekend we need to move the battery to boot, test fit the fmic pipes to be sent off for welding and refit the clocked turbo and oil cooler.

Are you replacing the standard oil cooler with the new one pictured or running two small ones or using it for the PAS fluid or something?

That is the oil cooler, it was already on, it will be fitted somewhere after the FMIC has been set in place.

I was meaning the blue circled cooler..?

Is the one circled in red not oil but transmission fluid instead then?

My assumption was that the red one was already an oil cooler and then was asking why you had fitted a second one (the blue one).

Blue cooler is the Gear box oil cooler

Red cooler is the engine oil cooler :)

The cooler in the middle is the P/S cooler
