PROJECT: MAGNUS AQUA DOMUS!

lol, I'll figure it out tomorrow, just finishing up the plumbing though half of the tube clips I have are for 5/8 OD not 3/4 OD :(

Debating using cable ties, not sure if its going to look **** or not.

Hmm I'll see how I get on, if I can do it without making them look gash I will, I don't really want to drain off 4L of mayhems for a few days use :o

Words can't describe how frustrated I am right now :(

Will have to wait until durring the week now, a fair few of the barbs I have, the thread is slightly too long for the bitspower angle fittings, threads are bottoming out before the oring compresses.

I'll update with some pics of the current state in the morning, for now I'm off to sink the last half of this bottle of soco :)

How it sits right now, unless Asda have started selling barbs and hose clamps this is how it will remain until Tuesday at the earliest:

It is BUT Phobya also designed this around the exact specs of the G.Changer series of radiators, you have no idea how tight that XTX360 was to fit in the bottom due to it being ~4mm thicker then a G.Changer. The 280 in the front was a last minute addition, very impressed with the quality of HWLabs radiators :D

80mm Rads would almost certainly be out of the question for the top and bottom I would say.

I would have struggled with a 480 in the roof too due to how the res sits.

My conclusion thus far is that this is a really really poorly designed case BUT if you pay it enough attention it can be fantastic. Though I get the impression Phobya designed this case specifically around their range of radiators, without consideration for size variations on other brands.

it appears at face value to be very well designed i suppose, one thing that i can see though is that it seems so focused on radiator space that it doesn't seem to have much in the way of hiding cables?

i realise of course this is not complete and when it is it will be a lot neater but how is it for cable management? i.e hiding cables? looks like a difficult case to hide cables

Cable management is a complete nightmare, which is why I've gone so nuts with the braided cables, as they'll have to be on show just tidied up somewhat, if I end up struggling I may put some trunking in for the cables to sit in. It doesn't help that the motherboard tray is actually bolted to the rear panel, you have to take 3 screws out of the motherboard tray before you can start removing the rear panel.

Well designed for water, not for cables unfortunately. That said, for the price I paid for it (switch 810 price range) no other case comes close to it for radiator space.

could try cable stitching to neaten them up. or even extend the motherboard tray to the front of the case and have that for hiding cables.

i usually steal ideas from other peoples builds to make mine neater :P

Haha, I did actually consider making a plate to cover the exposed areas, in the end I opted out of it.

I'll maybe try get the cables all sorted out tomorrow, with the exception of the two 6 pin cables on the GPU's, forgot to order extensions for those :p

AHHH BINGO!! I saw a pack of these while ordering things last week and thought "they'll come in handy" then totally forgot about them!

Though I'll never be the cable management god that RJK is :( That guy has some serious talent in that department.

They weren't straight to begin with, the solid link joining the cards is helping quite a bit, those aquacomputer blocks are pretty damn heavy!! I actually spent a good 20 mins fitting the cards to get them to sit as straight as possible :)

Its already attatched to the outside ;)

I'll get some better pics of it tomorrow, but if you look closely to the side of the 280 in the front you'll see a couple of grommets with fittings poking through ready to link up the 1080.

Fortunately the case comes with many grommets I don't need so I just drilled some 1" holes in the rear panel and put some grommets on it to pass the fittings through.

Phobyas intention was to have the tubing pass through the bottom rear of the case, which IMO would look fugly.
