Project: No Name Budget

that cable braiding looks wicked! i ended up getting silverstone extensions for my visible cables as they do a stunning red/black set that match my build perfectly (serves me right for using "normal" colours!). thinking next build i will go with the mouldable cabling so i can make it immensely tidy!

Beautiful. The reservoir looks right at home! and the colours are perfect. Will keep my eye on this.

This looks so good, love this case and the yellow

Thanks!

Thanks, my cable management round back needs some serious time spent on it as its a mess:o but will spend some time on it when i finish the other cables.

Finally managed to get my cables sorted and fire this thing up today, which went so so:( Motherboard would not recognise my original Raid0 array so can't boot into windows until i've reinstalled(thats a pain in the arse when the only Computers i own are Mac's).

Still need to sort my lighting out and finish the top case mod then I'm done:D

Hopefully have pics of her up and running tomorrow.

Thanks

She lives!

Might want to consider making a new front panel or modding the existing one to allow for better airflow. My gpu temps decrease by 20 degrees when I pop off that front cover (full loaf).

Right I've had this up and running for the evening and have completed some temp testing without any mods to the outside of the case.

Tested the GPU originally in my old case(which was the define R3) CPU was over clocked to 4.6 on air and would climb to around 76c under load. The GPU hit 94c on star swarm.

All the below were tested running star swarm.
With case completely closed running stock CPU & GPU:

CPU max = 52c, GPU max = 49c

With case completely closed running 4.6 on CPU & stock GPU:

CPU max = 56c, GPU max = 51c

With case top off running stock CPU & GPU:

CPU max = 54c, GPU max = 50c

With case top off running 4.6 on CPU & stock GPU:

CPU max = 55c, GPU max = 50c

Need to try this in some real world gaming and benching tests but I'm trying to decide whether or not to go ahead with the case top mod or not:confused: as right now i don't think it needs it, but when I move to dual GPU setup i may have to.

It's the front panel not top one xD top one I found made less than 1 degree difference same as you!

Modding the front of the case is not an option as I need to keep the stealth look (has to fit with the decor:roll eyes: and desk). I will test with the front off tho to see what difference it makes!

Just tested this using my 4.6 over clock with front off and i got:

CPU max = 49c
GPU max = 48c

So definitely better with the front off but I'm not sure its enough at the minute to warrant modding the front!

Fair enough I think it may be so much more of a difference to me as I am likely approaching my heat capacity with the gpus in this rig. Might be to do with the design of my fans I dunno! Grats on the nice cool rig though! When I gave my front cover off, both of my gpus sit at around 54 degrees after two days of constant mining, front cover on and I takes them to 68 :( you wanna see the mod I am doing though. Haven't seen it done quite like this before hehe

in all fairness im not mining so not liking to suffer the same heat issues as you. I'll look forward to the next update in your build log;)

Well just need to get the designs for my custom side window finalised and then get the off to the fabricator I plan on using. Front panel cutting tool should be with me soon enough. For now, it's pretty much done. How did you get such decent pics without glare on your side window? Absolute nightmare for me!

I need to think about a full window or a secondary window but not made my mind up yet, but I like the flush look panel in its original state! as for photos a used my desk to stop light coming from the top that stopped most of the glare.
