Project Reality v1 finally here

Might give this another try, remember really enjoying it back in the day. Much more immersive and fun than the original bf2. I was amazed at the teamwork and immediately felt like I fit into my team even though it was just a random public server.

I remember a long time ago seeing a post from a dev saying that numbers didnt mean much and that V1.00 was just another release. Could be wrong on that though.

what does surprise me is how the filesize has doubled- I stopped playing this at .96 or .97 and i remember them only just introduing 'part3' to the file downloads!

So true, i have most latest games for both pc and ps3, and i still go back to PR, cant wait until tomorrow, i would go as far as saying the sounds are better than in bf3, even some of the in game effects, and nothing comes close to PR for realism and team work, and with all graphics set on high it holds up well anyway, still looks great.

Bf2 is too old for me now, Arma 2 does reality far better.

What happened to PR on ArmA2? I know the PR team made some major PR disasters with there approach to there mod and the ArmA community. Did there attitude kill it in the end?

Melbo

Get a server running dude.

Lost my copy if bf2, had all the expansion packs as well.

It is still attached to my Ea id, do you thunk they will give me my codes?

No idea, Marker! I know it's not possible to get it onto Origin as for some reason you can't add games that came out a certain time ago.

I was on the live chat earlier and they were trying to get me to create an account for pogo.com then activate an "EA Classics" account to get it on there. Shock horror it didn't work so I bought it on Steam.

Also to get a server running I think you have to apply and go from there.

As a word of warning, don't be putting servers up expecting them to be busy as you might expect with other games. Project Reality has a very tight-knit community with very popular community servers that are well-versed in the game and expect a certain level of competency. Keeping a near-empty server running won't give you the best experience this mod has to offer and you weren't learn much on your Jack!

Just been talking to one of the Devs on the forums and he sent me pictures of a lan party we went to years back for one of the releases. I was still in the army then and had just finished a three week exercise and I was stinking! His old community is stir going strong so will be jumping on their servers!

Also just dug up my old retail version of BF2 and sent the cd key to a mate. The v1.5 patch removed the need for the dvd to be in the drive.
